Started as low voltage technician to install security alarm systems in homes and businesses. Program, troubleshoot problems and repair as necessary. Explain operation to customer. After first 6 months working in low voltage, supervisor sent me into the field to train as an electrician. After my first month, my supervisor sent me to work on a service call troubleshooting a buried outlet, after 20 minutes, I found the error and repaired problem. He would also send me on other service calls. After finishing my training as an electrician, they they assigned me to also work with a Hispanic team of three helpers, and I would drive my three helpers and all the electrical components to be installed to the location of where electrical components would be installed in each home, I trained each person to install all electric receptacles, lighting and connections to air conditioning throughout the house, and all appliance connections in these track homes. Afterwards, I would troubleshoot, residential homes to verify that all locations were correct according to the electric panel on the outside of the home hooking up a generator to the panel and then testing all receptacles and light switches to verify that they corresponded with the written location on the electric panel and if not troubleshoot to find out where the problem was and repair if possible.
