Regional Manager Architecture +Design

Responsibilities: Visit and report on all core brands (Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood, Staybridge) and the upscale Indigo Hotel Brand in the western United States (130 total 30 active at any given time). Inspections were conducted for compliance with Brand standards, and Fire/Life safety. Reported on compliance during four key stages of construction, the focus being Brand Standard Compliance, and risk aversion. Made recommendations for increased risk aversion and maximizing ROI. Primary function was Owner engagement and setting their projects up for success by partnering with their Consultants.

Construction Manager for Diamond Rock Hospitality Company.

Conceptual budget preparation, Pre-construction and value engineering for several large hotel construction and room renovations. These properties included: The Marriott Renaissance Vail, The Marriott Renaissance Chicago, Starwood The Glen, Marriott Renaissance Fort Worth and The Marriott Renaissance Sonoma.

Responsibilities: Managed the selection process (RFP) for design professionals, and specific tasks assigned to contracted Designers and Architects for the production of record documents against the Client’s Capital expenditure program and schedule.

Managed the selection process (RFP) of new and existing FF&E consultants to ensure budget and schedule were maintained. Managed the procurement of both warehousing and installation of all FF&E for each property.

Managed multiple projects for selection and management of general contractors nationwide so as to ensure that phased turn over of newly constructed buildings or renovated floors did not impact the guest experience, the budget, or the Capital Expenditure Schedule.

Evaluated and supervised the revision of each projects CPM Schedule as required for variance and resource allocation pursuant with contractual deadlines and Client expectations.

Consistently addressed the Client’s current needs and changes with respect to the overall schedule, budget while ensuring the Guest experience was not compromised.

Cumming Corp, 2014 to 2016

Construction Manager for “The One and Only Palmilla” Five Star Resort San Jose Del Cabo Mexico for Kerzner International Resorts. Responsible for the innovative managing and completion of a 173 Guest room resort with General Contractor employing non-standard construction practices. Responsibilities: Managed the general contractor, designer and FF&E for the timely completion of a hurricane damaged five star resort in just over five months time. This included the rebuilding and re-commissioning of all Venues, Pools, Spa, Restaurants and Life safety systems.

Opened the property 1 week early generating a potential additional 3MM in revenue

Previous assignment: Construction Manager for the Miami Beach Edition Hotel. Owner’s Representative for Marriott International. Responsible for all FOH, BOH and FF&E. Managed multiple Architectural consultants in order to deliver the intended scope as required by The Client through TCO. Produced punch list and valuation for incomplete and non-compliant work.

Reported to the Executive Vice President and Project Director.

Responsibilities: Managed the General Contractor, and multiple design professionals for compliance to the design intent, schedule and budget pursuant with the Client’s expectations. Managed the Client’s budget and advised on the most prudent course of action due to the impending sale of the property and changes in design during construction. Venues included the management of construction, commissioning and punch list of a bowling alley, an ice skating rink, a night club, several outdoor bars, two world class restaurants for chef Jean Georges, 294 Guest rooms, 26 Condominium residences, high end retail shop, all public space in FOH, BOH, FF&E procurement, warehousing and installation.

* Saved the Owner Approximately 1MM due to incomplete, noncompliant, punch list work.

Private Construction Real Estate Consultant, Las Vegas, NV 2009 to 2014

Provided a broad range of clients with licensed property inspections both in the Las Vegas area and Southern California.

Services include pre-construction, value engineering, life cycle analysis, tenant improvement, budgets, schedules, feasibility studies, permitting, site evaluation, claims and bond forfeiture analysis.

Responsibilities: Managed the selection, entitlement, budget and schedule, and life cycle analysis and ROI (return on investment) of potential property purchases for several Chinese investors. Managed existing properties and their existing property management for compliance with the Client’s budget and overall risk. These services included the budget and schedule of new retail improvements, existing retail and office improvements, existing property claims analysis and bond forfeiture.

Typically saved Clients in excess of $50K on a per project basis by providing real world professional property assessments.

Senior Project Manager, The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino

Senior Project Manager for the Podium Levels of the $3.9 Billion Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino, including over a million Square feet of underground parking facilities, meeting Rooms, Event Center, and 100,000 Square foot Casino.

Responsible for over 600 Million in construction costs.

Reported directly to the Vice President of Operations and The Project Executive.

Responsibilities: Managed the schedule and accountability of the Design professionals during the design/build process with approximately 60% documents. Managed a staff of Seven field engineers and 2 project managers who were assigned to specific areas of construction. This included the Casino floor, The underground parking structures, Slurry wall, Banquet rooms and associated Kitchens, grey box construction and life safety of future retail and restaurant areas that were tangential to the Casino floor. Managed the changing requirements of the Owner for the redesign of the Casino and signature Chandelier Bar while driving schedule and budget constraints.
