Health & Safety
Ensure all policies and procedures set forth
by the Municipality of the County of Inverness
are always observed. In addition to developing
new policies, I have experience applying
existing policies, procedures, and relevant Acts,
Codes, Regulations and Legislation.
I believe that we all have a duty to our
families and return home after work. Meaning
that while we expect employees to voluntarily
comply with rules, it is necessary to monitor
the workers and provide direction, instruction,
and training on health and safety.
Depending on the seriousness of any
contraventions or deviations to working safely,
there may be a need to immediately stop work,
or address the issue on-site, and address the
issue at the next scheduled health and safety
meeting, or toolbox talk.
Complete the necessary documentation or
incident reports needed to record
contraventions, violations, injuries, near
misses, and property damage regardless of
severity.
Submit accident reports and hazardous
incident reports to the CAO in a timely manner.
When possible, mitigate any manageable
hazards prior to completing incident reporting,
then report.
Ensure that employees are trained on their
rights to know what hazards are in their
workplace, that they can participate as a health
and safety rep or on the health and safety
committee.
Train employees that they are required to
contribute to a respectful workplace, and that
employees have the right to work in a
workplace that is free from violence,
harassment, discrimination, and sexual
harassment.
H&S REQUIREMENTS
I am a high achiever with lots of successes. I have a high level of energy and I possess the ability to work independently or as part of a team. I believe that there is little that I cannot learn to do. I have the ability and flexibility to work as needed. Likewise, I am creative, resourceful, and I am not afraid to ask questions or learn new skills to complete tasks. My default leadership style is to mentor staff, clearly define operational objectives and foster an environment of imagination, ingenuity, and creativity where possible. As a confident leader, effective manager, and proven team player, I am confident that my experience, skills, attitude, understanding, and passion make me a suitable candidate to interview. As noted on my Resume, some of my successes have included developing, submitting, and negotiating business cases with government agencies and their representatives. I have managed multi-million-dollar budgets and have a firm grasp on operating within funding allocation. Finally, I have extensive human resources experience, knowledge of both provincial and federal labour standards, and a strong belief in health, safety, and wellness.
I have managed and worked in union, and non-union environments. Furthermore, I have participated in union negotiations, and applied relevant standards, acts, codes, and legislation. I look forward to meeting with you to further discuss my qualifications and suitability for the position. Respectfully,
