Preventative maintenance of commercial equipment and systems including, Inspect systems and their components (e.g. air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units, mechanical room equipment, BMS and CIP Systems, etc.) and identify necessary repairs.

Perform routine and preventative maintenance as needed and/or assigned per GMP requirements.

Clean systems (e.g. coils, condensation pans, drain lines, etc.) to ensure units are operating correctly.

Prepare maintenance documentation per GMP requirements.

Installs HVAC Energy Management System, medical refrigeration temperature and/or alarms, and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure energy goals and building safety is achieved at all times.

Installs and troubleshoot intricate computer-controlled speed drives of various sizes and computer controlled energy management systems.

Exercises a high degree of judgment on their own initiative to repair with unexpected conditions or emergencies, which may arise to prevent any defect in plant operation.

Makes major repairs and modifications to existing equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair combustion, heat transfer, and high temperature controls of hot water generation of power boiler plants.

Troubleshoots, adjust and calibrate all safety controls and operating controls to specifications. To include repairing, maintaining, testing, and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, etc.

Operates/troubleshoots Energy Management System adjusting command set points, temperature changes, and operates distributed digital control system.

Reads and understands complex mechanical, electrical, electronic and control blueprints, operating instructions, manufacturer's operating manuals, and trade publications.

Installs, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and replaces a variety of electronic, electric and pneumatic instruments and controls.

Analyze, edit and test proprietary programming language for multiple systems and networking architecture.

Program simple test instructions in the tape language or an input console to check out particular circuits or functions.

VA Police Officer (Lieutenant) GS-8

As a supervisory Police Officer (Lieutenant) I ensure a safe and secure environment across all VA Administrations within various settings, including a variety of jurisdictional environments, such as VHA Medical Centers and facilities, Inpatient Clinics, Outpatient Clinics, domiciliary and administrative sites throughout the United States. As Lieutenant I serve as a vital part of the VA Police Service, I often serve as the face of the VA and as the first person a Veteran or visitor encounters when entering a VA facility. I provide security and assistance to Veterans, patients, employees, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, visitors, and others who frequent visit VA facilities daily. As a Lieutenant I am also responsible for the protection of high valued assets from theft, intentional damage and unauthorized removal. I also engage and communicate with all individuals they encounter to ensure a positive outcome and the safety of the facility and all its occupants. This provides advice and guidance to PS management officials and staff.

I also directs, coordinates and/or performs a variety of supervisory and non-supervisory policing law enforcement assignments and projects that are performed on Departmental property; including any properties owned, leased, or licensed when consistent with Federal laws, regulations, VA policy and operational guidance.

Works in collaboration with the Captain who serves as the incumbent's immediate supervisor.

Coordinates or oversees off-station VA law enforcement activities, investigations or protection support in accordance with applicable laws and VA policy.

Provides Lieutenant policing services routinely at all segments of VA facilities located over large geographical areas, some of which may be in different states, counties, municipalities, or townships.

Performs certain elements of the work away from Departmental properties.

Manages, supervises and coordinates the VHA, Police Service law enforcement activities for designated assigned areas.

Connect the water, gas, and waste disposal pipes to the city or town supply. Verify blueprints, ensuring the type and size of pipes needed. Run pipes inside the foundation before the concrete is poured. Install the pipes for the kitchen and bathroom. Bend cut and connected pipes to each other with solder or glue. Solder copper pipe used for water and heat. Perform pressure test pipes for leakage by capping all the pipe outlets and then pumping air through the system to check for loss of pressure. Install, maintain, and repair large pipes in industrial settings. Perform installation and testing of large, high pressure pipes. Cut and thread piping. Connect pipe joints by means of welding, brazing, soldering, gluing, caulking, or threading. Perform all work through the safe usage of many tools, including benders, wrenches, drills, reamers, chisels, hammers, and other hand tools, gas or acetylene torches for welding and soldering equipment.

Fabricate fixtures, lines and cables, makes necessary equipment repairs, modify, and align test equipment.

Reviews construction plans, verifies their correctness and provides feedback regarding building automation controls consistency and ease of maintenance, and expandability.

Provides innovative ideas to reduce energy usage through awareness of energy conservation measures.
