Experience Summary
Coming from a Photogrammetry & Cartography background, that is covering the entire core of Geomatics engineering components such as Cartography,Projections,Photogrammetry, Mapping, Geodesy, Astronomy and GPS. Working with GIS from its early stages when it was about to raise, with a 30 years of experience in which all related to some aspects of Geospatial technology. This leads to have a solid background that’s plays a major part in mastering and maintaining an excellent track with the new and evolved technologies, so that both principles and concepts are firmly grabbed and logically led to what we can describe as naturally thinking spatially.
In this journey I have used deferent operating system such as (UNIX, Linux, VMS, DOS, MAC and Windows), Platforms such as (SUN, Silicon Graphics, HP, Macintosh, VAX, and PC), Software products from several vendors, and use both conventional and digital equipment’s .My work role varies with time starting from a team member to a head of section or a
project manager, following is a glance to some samples of my involvements:
- map completion and updates, Geological, Hydrological and Cadastral mapping.
- Raster and Imagery: Work with deferent satellite imagery, raster mosaicking, image geo-referencing cataloguing and ortho-rectification, photo interpretation, establishing ground control survey, analysis of Remote Sensing data using
ERDAS Imagine, ENVI and PCI Geomatica.
- Digital Mapping: Work mainly with ESRI GIS technology since ArcInfo version 4x, including several extensions as Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Survey Analyst, and Network Analyst. Contribute on technical committees for GIS projects, the
production of Digital Dictionaries, Digitizing specifications and Standards, working in different GIS projects such as the building of digital vector GIS maps at various scales, the production of thematic and general-purpose maps.
- Database: Geodatabase design, configuration, tuning and administration, data conversion, metadata, transformation, queries building and reports generation.
- Analysis: GIS Modeling, tools creation and spatial analysis.
- QA&QC: Map release approval and quality check controlling.
- Programming: Application, web, mobile, and GIS development, leveraging
object-oriented methods and mapping components, software customization using deferent SDKs.
- Knowledge transfer: Teach and train users for deferent Spatial technology
courses, design and develop many custom and user oriented courses.
- Licensing and troubleshooting for ESRI GIS Software.
Employment Records:
Current
- Head of modern application department at RJGC
Projects managed:
-Produce maps 50k by using MGCP Derived Graphics (MDGs) are hard copy products created from existing MGCP data holdings
They can be produced quickly utilizing ESRI software we need them to providing timely relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security
- JSDI Reduce time and redundancy of data production. By connecting geospatial data and service producers and consumers, infrastructure and costs can be kept economical. The technology is scalable and can fit into any infrastructure, including existing geospatial technology installations. And Enable easy search and discovery of existing geospatial data and services. Users can create and post metadata records efficiently, which are necessary for inventorying, locating, and assessing the quality of geospatial data.and Maintain data integrity and security. Organizations easily share the authoritative version of data among users and provide mechanisms for the creation of authentic data and metadata
Provide Support in Usage, Implementation, Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting to all ESRI software Products in the following scope of work:
Map interaction, Map display and Map text including annotation,
dimensions, expressions and SQL queries.
Creation of page layouts, printing and exporting maps.
Advanced cartography through use of cartographic representations.
Address management through geocoding tools.
Creation, editing, and synchronization of metadata.
Data manipulation and analysis using geoprocessing tools, models and scripts.
Geodatabase behaviors including but not limited to subtypes,
domains, relationship classes, annotation, topology, geometric
networks, attribute validation, archiving, replication etc.
Data alignment through the user of projections, geo-referencing, transformations and\or other data adjustment techniques.
Data conversion from various format such as DGN, CAD, ASCII to
GIS format and topologically correct it.
Verification of successful licensing of ESRI software including
configuration of the ESRI License Manager.
Verification of functioning ArcSDE services and client connectivity to
ArcSDE Geodatabases.
Configuration and use of Enterprise Geodatabases and diagnose of performance issues.
Data loading (raster and vector) using ArcGIS Desktop and ArcSDE command line utilities.
Data editing and versioned editing including reconcile, post, and compress.
Basic RDBMS administration and usage support including:
o Creating users
o Managing privileges
o Configuring storage
o Basic SQL
Building and maintaining an enterprise Geodatabase of all GIS
layers.
Produce data dictionary documentation.
Data conversion from the existing “as built” CAD drawings, lots
coverage’s and shape files.
Utilized Esri technologies for data validation, and error correction.
