ARMED NUCLEAR SECURITY OFFICER – Huntington Ingalls Industries (Newport News Shipyard), Newport News, Virginia, September 2015 – Present

Supervise and monitor centralized alarm system and warning systems and detect any unlawful presence in high security zone. Guard multiple point gate accesses and components worth $37 billion dollars for building of Nuclear Aircraft Carriers and Nuclear Submarines. Analyze and defend nuclear reactors for vital area (VA) components and identified threats. Participate in training and tactical drills and ensure compliance in Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements. Perform regular foot patrolling of protected area, vital area installations, and gates to ensure nuclear facility’s security. Respond immediately to any warning generated by alarm. Analyze and rectify all failed security measures to ensure nuclear 24X7 securities in facility. Monitor and check all vehicles and personnel at entry and exit points. Manage lawful access control functions at Owner Controlled access entry points to prevent unlawful access to weapons area. Execute drug or alcohol testing policy. Provide escorts to vehicles as per NRC requirements. Initiate extreme care to enable authorized visits to plant areas.
