I dealt with customer service and asking personal questions all while creating a relaxing, friendly, and inviting environment in hopes the donors would return and bring more people with them. Before and after every shift all equipment was processed through quality control. Each piece of equipment from thermometers and blood pressure cuffs to gauze and single use retractable needles for finger sticks had to go through a quality control check where we would enter into a laptop the lot number, scanned their barcode, performed tests to make sure each and every function was working correctly and that it had been maintenance with in the designated time frame.
