March – May, 2010 Consulting Project Engineer for Conoco Phillips Newfoundland Wolverine G-37 deepwater exploration well

Aug 2004 – March, 2010 Consulting as Fluids Coordinator for MI Swaco Trinidad (consultant)to BG TT

Currently drilling a multi-well exploration/development drilling campaign both offshore and onshore. Drilling fluids consist of synthetics for intermediate intervals and waterbase polymer/KCL/NaBr for the reservoir intervals. Problems consist of highly reactive clays, abnormal pressures combined with depleted sands, and managing loss circulation. Responsibilities include:

Recommending proper drilling fluids to meet the well objectives in a cost-efficient manner.

Design proper hydraulics program to provide proper holecleaning while managing ECD, minimize losses, and associated problems with drilling horizontal reservoir sections.

Provide technical solutions that address the problems and provide solutions to minimize them.

Logistically insure that the mud company maintains sufficient inventory to complete the campaign.

Manage the rotating engineers and insure they have the proper equipment to perform their duties.

Insure that the waste management program and equipment meets the requirements according to local environmental regulations.

Insure that the solids control equipment is maintained and operated to provide efficient performance within the required parameters.

Write the post-well recap highlighting successes and providing recommendations to improve performance on future wells.

2003 – 2004 MI Swaco Houston, Texas Project Engineer for BP GOM

Project Engineer responsible for drilling campaigns in GOM Shelf

Responsibilities include

Recommending drilling fluids to successfully meet the objectives of the drilling campaign.

Prepare complete proposal –fluids, properties, treatments, hydraulics to complete well objectives.

Prepare recap of the well outlining success/failure of objectives highlighting lessons learned and recommendations for future wells.

Manage the engineers on a daily basis and provide technical assistance when required.

2002-2003 BHI Houston, Texas TFM Coordinator/Compliance Engineer

Worked the deepwater BP Atlantis development program. The fluids system was SBM with mud weights to 15.8 ppg. The water depths ranged from 5400 – 7900.

2001–2002 British Gas Bolivia Consultant Project Engineer

Responsible for writing the drilling fluids, drill-in fluids, and waste management program. Responsibilities included coordinating the mud properties and treatments to successfully achieve the drilling objectives.
