President and CEO of Marvin Rowe & Associates. Enhanced existing applications VB.Net, C# and SQL in both banking and warehouse management systems. Moved legacy cut-copy-change systems to a more modular/repeatable architecture. Migrated D/B access from inline SQL statements to Stored Procedures. Developed a efficient methodology for populating Parameter Object prior to the executing of these Stored Procedures. Introduced coding standards and TDD where there was none. Geographic Technologies Group (GTG), Goldsboro, NC (and worked remotely) 11/2017 – 8/2018

Lead Developer – C# / ASP.Net / VB.Net / SQL / LINQ / TDD / TFS / GIS / ESRI S/W

Moved GTG S/W development from software hacking to Software Engineering by introducing principles of modular coding, coding standards, Agile/SCRUM, code reviews, project management, a centralized code repository, TDD, and structured programming. Mentored junior staff and improved their working conditions. Interfaced with staff of ETI and ESRI to develop extremely complex GIS S/W required to meet or to exceed contractual obligations. Presented these results to customers. Developed DLLs and Methods within those DLLs that provided coding standards and reduced development time. One Method provided developers with a uniform technique of transporting data from a database to GUI and back to the database utilizing Methods within System.Reflection and a “D/B to GUI Rosetta Stone Object”. Dell Systems, Richmond, VA (worked remotely) 5/2016 – 2/2017

Contracted to Apex Systems (and eventually hired by) Dell Systems to develop Web Parts for the Owens & Minor, Supplier Master File SharePoint site. Responsibilities included but not limited to enhancing existing and writing new Web Parts (C# and jQuery) and debugging and publishing same. Developed an application that queries SPS groups and the users within those groups. These users are then compared against their status in the Active Directory. Inactive users are then automatically removed from the various SPS groups and the resultant culling is then logged to an Excel spreadsheet for review by management. (Took a position a C2)

3M, Atlanta, GA 5/2014 - 11/2015

Chief engineer on a project that is the backbone of all future 3M Health and Information Service (HIS) applications. Responsibilities included integrating with DBAs, architects and other senior developers to create a windows service that queries a centralized database, cull out required/essential records, encode the data and send it to a cloud-based database. Also enhanced “HUB” windows services modules that preforms various health care activities such as data validation, proper “grouping” of data and proper tracking and billing of all related hospital diagnoses, procedures and processes. All activity complied with HIPAA standards. Mentored junior developers and assumed a “guidance” role when chief architect left organization. (Moved to Wilmington, NC)

Contracted to the IRS as the chief architect/developer to design, develop and implement applications used in preparing for threats (natural or man-made) and responding to actual incidents when they occur. (Applications consisted of WinForms, Console apps and Web Pages.) A Top Secret clearance was required; therefore, the nature of these applications cannot be covered in this document other than to state the information was highly sensitive, time critical, and came from multiple sources. The application saved lives and information, restored order and minimized the impact of a disaster on the processes of the IRS. (Contract cancelled due to budget impasse within the U.S. Congress.)

Contracted to ING Investments as the chief data base administrator (DBA) on a highly visible project migrating a multibillion-dollar Access application to a Web system accessing a SQL Server database. Application was responsible for managing multi-million-dollar transactions between major financial institutions. Responsibilities included designing and developing the database, creating and unit testing stored procedures, interfacing with business analysts, authoring technical documents based on analysts’ requirements specifications and maintained documentation in SPS 2007. Managed the Net Tiers gens that created Middle Tier Objects. (Contract ended)

A Deeper View, Alpharetta, GA (part time - worked remotely) 4/2010 – 4/2012

DBA/Sr. Developer – C# / ASP.NET / SQL / XML / Silverlight / WCF / VSS

Worked part-time on a web site that monitors and records activities of autistic children. Responsibilities included, adding referential integrity to the existing database, developing and unit testing stored procedures, interfacing with third party credit card processing APIs, enhancing ASP.NET Web pages, writing C# and Java Script code for those pages, and fixing bugs. Designed a new structure for web pages and implemented CRUD permissions. New architecture greatly improved modularity and scalability of the site. The Web site utilized WCF and Silverlight.

VCG Software, Roswell, GA 11/2009 – 4/2010

Part of a small IT staff that developed, maintained and corrected software for a 2M line Windows Form C#/SQL application. The application dynamically generated a UI that accessed a SQL server database through a Web middle tier. All UI Objects were customized Controls that inherited from Infragistics Controls. The application employed most if not all of the Design Patterns developed by the “Gang of Four”. (Company no longer exists)

Helped reduce the memory leaks within the application by 89%.

Designed, developed and documented a benchmark to identify the number of objects causing the memory leaks. Benchmark was a key factor in identifying the target objects and recording the success of this effort.

Assisted in the decreasing the number of known anomalies within the application.

Designed, created, tested, and deployed C# Web sites, C# Web Services, C# Assemblies and XML IBatis Data Objects that serialized internal Classes and transformed the XML document via XSLT into another XML document. This document validated against an industry standard XSD schema. Developed front end Windows forms/screens and Web pages using WPF, XAML, and Infragistics controls. Also wrote SQL SPROCs. All assigned projects completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

Web Service provided the customer with a better method of controlling their cash flow.

Web site offered a tutorial on how to utilize the Web Service.

WPF presented a more modular development process for all future code, thus speeding delivery time and decreasing maintenance costs.
