Conduct Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis and processing on various types of geo-spatial datasets regarding different research and production goals to improve efficiency and agency mission results.

Develop custom editing and analysis tools (in multiple environments including Visual Studio 2013, ArcGIS models, Python scripting) designed to improve workflow and efficiency in agency production units and national data collection efforts. Research and propose new project/product potential. Develop workflows and build tools to make projects a useful tool for improving agency mission results. Participate regularly as a project lead and/or team member on numerous research projects to produce definitive results and/or produce new resources/deliverables for multiple annual data collection cycles.

Assist in the production of national raster land cover dataset using LandSat satellite imagery and ground truth for the classification process. Research and propose additional potential for classified land cover dataset integration to improve production units regarding mission products. Use ArcGIS, ArcInfo, and Arcview to conduct spatial analysis, data conversion/management tasks, and develop GIS applications. Perform spatial analysis and integration for varying types of cartographic, graphical, and statistical outputs.

Perform sensitivity analysis on watershed models using HSPF. Collect field data using Trimble and Magellan GPS units and post processing of GPS data. Generate plots of bridge geometry and stream channel characteristics using Microstation CAD software and data collected in the field.

Maintain data sets involving site calculations and CAD plots generated from field surveys. Conduct total station surveys to collect data regarding flood-plain mapping, bridge geometry and stream channel characteristics.

Conduct stream channel longitudinal profiles and cross section surveys using laser level techniques.

Conduct geomorphic site assessments at streams sites on large state level cooperative project regarding bridge integrity.

Collect surface water quality data at stream sites. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data for customer product.
