Oct 2022 – April 2023 Site Operations Manager AMCO Ltd, Coventry

Joined the company with overall responsibility for the new warehouse implementation, and change management lead (140,000 sqft) within the Leadec manufacturing site, WMS, racking design, floor utilisation, resource planning, MHE and process control, for automotive (Radical Cars, Bentley, JLR sequencing) and multi-user.

General management responsibility for P&L, reviewing workloads and manpower to ensure targets are achieved and exceeded, MHE costs, resource planning, space management,

setting up and monitoring stock integrity, receiving, pick & despatch reports, setting up and monitoring charge reports, monthly invoicing, costings for business units, ensuring health and safety regulations adherence and compliance, implementing of new contracts and charging agreements, process confirmations, 5s, Action Turbos, KPI’s, Business Improvement Matrix (BIM), implementation of a robust training program for new starters.

Joined the company on an open ended contract (PAYE) to support the warehouse with the implementation and solution design for Vibrant Foods circ £5.1m per year of package food products for Supermarket chains, Tesco, ASDA, M&S, Ocado, Morrisons and independents. Recruited by the now Director initially to assist in the coordination of all site stakeholder activities including but not limited to, inbound stock (LFD/PPE), putaway, pick/pack activities with the contracted 3PL (Wincanton) reporting on time in full inbounds, trailer fill from suppliers, inventory integrity, and outbound demand risks.

Later project managed the transferal of overspill stock from Wincanton Doncaster to Wincanton Hams Hall (5000 pallets). Apr 2021 Opened a new Iron Mountain site in Heywood where I oversaw the transfer of all UK PCR obsolete/expired stock from multiple (x11) PCR kitting sites (DHL, Kuehne+Nagel, Clipper Logistics and Uniserve) simultaneously, (26,000 pallet capacity).

July 2021 Opened the White Hart Triangle Iron Mountain site in Thamesmead (14,000 pallet capacity).

Oct 2021 Promoted to Fulfilment Manager with General management responsibilities (Home Channel & OLT Channel) and opened the new Whistl (Paragon) 3pl site (900,000 sqft,) in Lutterworth with two direct reports, with total responsibility for managing capacity planning (inbound, storage, outbound) and fulfilment of LFD & PCR test kits to service demand for Home Channel supply stream whilst managing non DC sites (x 3 – listed above) and having shared responsibility for the OLT channel demand (Care Homes – parcel deliveries) at DHL Brackmills site (Northampton)

As a crucial member of the management team I oversee the smooth running of the Oldbury (3rd largest in Europe) sortation hub operation. My main key responsibilities are managing a large group of agency and permanent staff driving the delivery of a world beating service (full e-commerce) to customers whilst achieving challenging objectives around Cost, Health & Safety, Security, Productivity and Transport.

Managing P&L through effective planning, ability to unload (400+ vehicles per night) and load/unload 230 vehicles simultaneously, sorting over 480,000 parcels per afternoon/night

Improving the overall support to the Operation whilst concentrating on new and innovative ways of working.

Key responsibilities on productivity, and service levels above 99%.

Mar 2020 – Jun 2020 Site Manager Clipper Logistics Group PLC, Daventry DIRFT (Contract).

Joined company on a contract basis to set up and manage PPE requirement activities (inbound, storage, picking, distribution, retail & e-commerce) on behalf of the NHS (sub contracted from Unipart Logistics). Maintaining critical stock levels and distribution to NHS and private facilities fighting the Covid 19 pandemic.

Overall budgetary responsibility to set up and manage the Daventry 2 warehouse 396,000 sqft, (floor storage) with shared management duties for the Daventry 1 operations and setting up the E-Commerce NHS (PPE) Hub.

Attending daily progress meetings/Skype with senior NHS supply chain stakeholders, army logistics corps senior staff, and Clipper senior management, reporting on potential inbound/outbound, space management, inventory integrity.

Warehouse management, movement of cases through production to final storage area internal/external.

Calling off of completed/incomplete cases using haulier partners from external storage facilities considering manufacturing and delivery schedule (external storage/transport cost £180,000 pa).

Managing all company logistic functions to and from site, export, import of parts from suppliers, maintaining budgeted non chargeable costs (£10,000 pm).

Attending twice daily manufacturing meetings reporting on all critical part shortages to line, case transfers from external storage facility or delays to the completion area of the site.
