Chief Technical Writer/Business Development Manager 2007 to Present (Industrial Automation) Creative Design & Development Group, Macomb, MI

Project Management: leading a team of contractors simultaneously throughout several facilities while working with support personnel, vendors and customers to ensure deliverables meet specifications and expectations while ensuring the project deliverables are delivered correctly, on time and under budget. Managing budgets, designs, timelines, accounting, payroll, recruiting/managing staff, increasing customer confidence and vendor/wholesaler relationships. Business Development: instrumental in building new relationships with customers and increasing sales 7% annually by generating new business using a customer focused value-added approach. This includes writing business plans, proposals, partnering with suppliers for lower prices, enlisting a creative value- added approach for a more competitive edge.

Technical Writing duties includes: Operator & maintenance, training manuals, graphic design, technical illustrations, safety, ECPL (lock-out/tag-out), lube/maintenance charts and textbooks. This includes working with Industrial Engineers creating step-by-step process procedures pictorially explaining how the parts are being assembled with the supporting engineering specifications. Chief Technical Writer & Trainer 2004 - 2007 (Accessory Development Group) MAZDA North America, Flat Rock, MI (Contract)

Technical Writing: Responsible for creating installation instructions for new vehicle year accessories. This included learning how to install the accessory, writing a step-by-step instruction, creating line art illustrations and procurement of the documents. Installation Instructions ranged from exterior performance accessories (spoilers, ground effects, badging), to interior electronics (stereos, DVD’s) to performance improvements (turbo chargers, block heaters, suspension upgrades). Additional responsibility included the design of work holding installation fixtures, templates and working with product engineers to increase quality and reduce manufacturing cost.. Training Facilitator: Training duties encompassed traveling to the various dealership distribution centers teaching dealership personnel how to install the accessories using my authored instructions as reference. Key Accomplishments: By working with internal Quality Engineers and outside suppliers creating a formidable team thus reducing time and costs while adding process value (ease of use) at the dealership level. Reduced a 12-month documentation backlog within 2 months allowing products to ship on time. Department Manager: Responsible for writing of operator, maintenance and training manuals including informative technical illustrations, safety, ECPL, lube/maintenance charts, process routings and validating the integrity of the documents. Managed department while overseeing 40+ projects at any given time.
