I am 4 1/2 years sober and have plenty of experience besides my education. I was addicted to alcohol for several years, five plus in my late 30's and early 40's. I have been involved in a serious DUI that did not harm anyone but could have. I have lived experience with rehab, therapy, CBT, intensive outpatient treatment, and detox as well. I want to provide hope for those who need it and help them to make a positive change in their lives. I understand the importance of having someone to talk to who understands what you are going through. I want to be an example of strength and resilience, showing that with hard work, anything is possible. I want to inspire others and show them that anything is possible with dedication and perseverance. I found that in my recovery, I did much better with peer support. I want to create a safe and supportive environment for people to go through their recovery journey. I want to help them find the courage to make changes and find a support system.
