1) STRUCTURAL ERECTION & FABRICATION:

Coating & Welding Inspection report review / approval

Witness and Review, determine the cause of Premature corrosion failures, problem solving & trouble shooting involving Stainless Steels, Galvanized steel, Low Alloy steels, and Aluminum Alloys in marine and industrial environments are routine business areas. Failures due to the interaction of impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems, sacrificial anodes or stray AC currents are also a focus area.

Ensure weather conditions are acceptable in line with applicable standards/ specifications (Environmental, time and economic constraints).

Ensure manufacturer’s instructions and MSDS are followed while handling & storage of Painting/Coating materials abrasives at site.

Ensure that data sheets are available, material traceability is maintained, and correct material used.

Monitor performance of contractors, ensure Applicators are competent and where required have valid certification for the process in use, equipment is in serviceable condition.

Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, with in calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use.

Monitor mixing and thinning of the paint as per manufacturer data sheet, Monitor coating application and WFT. Ensure Over coating intervals between each coat of paint, DFT, Surface preparation prior to each coat are well maintained.

Inspects all plant assets within the LNG, OAG and IGD Plants, Utilities and off-plots areas to provide quality assurance and quality control of maintenance program for painting, insulation, fireproofing and refractory for ensuring plant fabric maintenance and integrity.

Advises the contractor on the coating systems, insulation systems and monitors the application.

INSULATION INSPECTION

Construction Material Approval review

Inspect insulation material to verify the manufacturer, type of product, and thickness of insulation, and batch number.

Ensure manufacturer’s instructions and TDS are followed while handling & storage of insulation materials at site.

Verify insulation materials are stored off the floor under shade in secured and well-ventilated areas away from moisture and water which may lead loosening of insulation strength.

Ensure piping and equipment is clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, loose rust, and scale.

Verify austenitic stainless-steel vessels, equipment, and piping need special attention to prevent contamination due to corrosive products like chlorine, chlorides, and surface is wrapped with aluminum or stainless-steel foil as per project specification.

Inspect insulation/cladding at each stage as indicated on ITPs.

Review and approval of Material approvals of Insulation materials. Monitor Fabrication Contractors insulation materials receipt, storage and handling processes

Preparation of ITP, Method Statement for Insulations.

Ensured all previous activities such as Hydro test, Painting and Mechanical completions prior to Insulation releases for Lines.

Verifying PUF materials are stored according to data sheet specified temperatures. Conducting a qualification test for Polyurethane Foam (PUF) applicator. Conducting Visual inspection of PUF Thickness and their failures.

Inspections of PIR (for Cold insulation), 1st, Mylar foil & 2nd layer, and application of Vapor Barrier’s. Verify thickness and other requirements during Insulation.
