Project Brief:

DS007 Package-9 is in the residential development known as West of Al-Meshaf with its boundaries consisting of Wakrah, Wukair Road to the South, the Wakrah Bypass Road to the West and South, and DS007-P03 and DS007-P04 to the East and North.

SCOPE OF WORK: The general scope of work to be undertaken in the project is to provide roads and infrastructure for residential and public use plots in an area covering 336.4125 hectares. The works include, but are not limited to, the following:

To provide assurance to the PMCM and SC that safety in construction meets the TDO’s as well as the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar Health & Safety requirements to help deliver SC’s ‘Work Safe, Deliver Amazing’ programme. 5.Basement Car Park (Main Contractor – M/S Marbu), Cost – 643 million Ecstatic Commercial Plaza & Children Mall (Main Contractor – M/S ITCC), Cost – 410 million.

It is a State of Art Stone Cladded Building with an approximate built-up area of 34,000 M2 in addition to basement car parking capacity of 1939 Parking Spaces.

6.Marine Restaurant (Jetty): Main Contractor – M/S Redco Almana, Cost – 74 million.

It is a Marine Dining Project located partially in existing breakwater and sea on the North-eastern Side of KATARA; consists of wooden walkways to approach the Chalets and Restaurant. The approximate built-up area is 1100 M2 with features like 08 Nos Chalets of four types-A, B, C & D, Kitchen and Restaurant, Outdoor activity and seating area, wooden floating walkways.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing HSE issues in the project including buildings, Infrastructure, and landscaping works,

Reporting to Project Manager on all HSE related issues at site,

Production of safe systems of work, HSE management systems and all relevant documentation.

Developed, implemented, and reviewed numerous fire and emergency response plans for construction site and Consultant Office.

Written reports and presentations to senior management on recommendations and action plans.

Design, develops and implement the Health, Safety, Environmental Management System,

Provide strategic/ general safety advice to top management and employees,

Keeps updated with prevailing and developments in the field of HSE,

Establish Key Performance Indicators, goals, and objectives of the group in terms of Health, Safety & Environment issues.

Monitor the effectiveness of HSE Policies in terms of performance

Monitor changes and developments in the field of Health, Safety& Environment,

Review and approve risk assessments and method statements submitted by Contractor,

Seek external advice and support as required,

Carry-out unscheduled and scheduled safety inspection at work sites,

Ensured the Main Contractor conducts Emergency Evacuation, and Fire Drill as per schedule,

Analyse accident and near miss reports and ensure that “lesson Learnt” is communicated to all concerned parties,

Preparation and submission of weekly/monthly safety reports to client,

Ensure that all established standards and applicable regulations are observed,

Advise the stoppage of any unsafe work to the Main Contractor’s Safety Manager’s/Project Managers and to the concerned sub-contractor’s representative,

Promote safety awareness and accident prevention measures to secure a safe working place,

Issue non-conformance reports for serious irregularities observed on site,

Review and audit the Main Contractors documented procedures and system of work,

Maintain all HSE records both electronic and hard copy,

Promotion of a positive safety culture throughout the group’s sites, carrying out audits and inspections of system requirements, collection of HSE data and identification of trends.
