AVP, Capital Management 2021 – 2023

Responsible for updating/modifying our internal Risk Based Capital (RBC) Excel-based model for Zurich North America (ZNA) encompassing ~ $32 billion in Assets, making capital projections, calculating and managing intercompany loans, handling cash remittance to parent company in Switzerland representing ~ $1 billion per year, and arranging Letters of Credit (LOC), etc. in working with domestic/foreign counterpart entities to ensure compliance with regulators, including NAIC and NYDFS.

Collaborate with others in the Zurich North America (ZNA) Capital Management and Liquidity team (Treasury department) and the comparable global teams to calculate and communicate the appropriate capital and cash needs to support operations and comply with regulations for ZNA.

AVP, Finance Automation Team Lead 2018 – 2021

Successfully worked with multiple business and service units across the Finance and Actuarial (F&A) department using automation tools (Blue Prism/BPC/Excel/VBA/Alteryx) to save thousands of hours of manual work per year. Over 50 Blue Prism RPA processes were rolled out to the Production environment working with IT.

Coordinated and managed the training of over 80 individuals throughout F&A in Blue Prism Robotic Process Automation (RPA) training over a 5-year span dating back to 2016.

Fully incorporated the NAL Expenses into the ZNA methodology of Expense Forecasting/Planning.

Senior Financial Analyst 2004 – 2010

Conducted, documented, and built complex financial analysis models (planning, forecasting, budgeting, etc.) between Corporate SAP systems and MS Excel to develop monthly and annual financial forecasts and plans at the market basket, business unit and division level for this leading multi-billion-dollar commercial property-casualty insurance company.

Acted as first line of review of P&L figures and KPIs.

Developed centralized, custom macro driven “Command Centers” and related Excel models for the overview and automation of the formatting and data population of Actuals for the monthly forecasting and annual planning processes. Reduced replication and population time of models by over 75%.

Reduced the time for replication and pre-population of the Broker Planning models by over 95% via automation in Excel/VBA.

Developed a back-end MS Access database solution automatically fed by the Underwriting Territory/Distribution Region/Broker Planning models. This resulted in the figures ultimately being in-synch resulting in time-savings of approximately 60%.
