Experience: 12/2021 to present - I currently work for Recovery Options Made Easy as part of the CRT team. The CRT team works with individuals who have received psychiatric treatment, have been diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness, and who are preparing to transition into the community. I work as the Nurse Educator and assist peers to educate recipients and assist them with their transition to community living.
2/20 – 12/21 – Catholic Health Inc. I worked as an addiction RN for patients in a 28 day drug and alcohol program including but not limited to administration of vaccines medications and PPDs, working with the doctor/ NP, psychiatrist and peers, obtaining samples for the laboratory, writing treatment plans and weekly progress notes as well as monitoring patients wellbeing. I had worked in this capacity three times.
8/19 – 2/20 – Horizon Health services – Outpatient RN - groups and 1:1 with patients with psychiatric and substance abuse problems. I administered IM medications, Clozaril blood draws in weekly outpatient settings.
3/19 – 8/19 – US Batavia Detention Center – I worked for the medical and psychiatric needs of inmates at the Federal Detention Center in Batavia, N.Y.
10/17 – 10/18 – Kaleida Health – Employed as a visiting nurse with VNA home care to provide care to patients with a mental health diagnosis. I gave IM and SQ medications as well as medication set ups to promote medication adherence.
3/2013 – 7/2016 – Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital – Employed as the Nurse Care Manager for a grant funded by NYS and Univera Health Insurance Co. This program worked to combine behavioral health and medical care at the Wellness Center. We served 500 + patients with seriously and persistent mental illness. At the same time, I also worked with Dr Rajinder Bajwa in the Infectious Disease Clinic also located at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital
7/2012 – 7/2013 – Bry Lin Hospital Admissions – I was responsible for evaluation of of medical and psychiatric symptoms of persons seeking admission. I would contact a psychiatrist to accept and then contact the patient’s insurance provider to admit the patient. I would also examine the patient to ensure their physical appropriateness for admission to our facility or facilitate transfer to a more appropriate hospital for more intense treatment.
8/2011 – 3/2012 – Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center – I was employed as a charge nurse on the men’s psychiatric floor. Here I did admissions, crisis intervention and medication/symptom management.
1979 – 2011 – Buffalo Psychiatric Center – I was employed as an RN at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center for 32 year. I worked progressively for a Nurse 1 to a Community Mental Health Nurse. I had many experiences as an RN in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings. I also have been involved in the consumer movement and participated in research studies for the consumer movement sponsored by the NYS Office of Mental Health. I worked with patients who suffer from serious and persistent mental illness as well as substance abuse.

Accolades – I am a member of the Pinnacle Adult Student Honor Society and a member of the Dean’s list. I have been involved in many psychiatric forums to assist employees and the general public to understand the symptoms of the seriously and persistently mentally ill patient and substance abuse client.
