Technical Program Manager SAFe/Agile, for the CORE DATA Operations Team for US Tech Solutions at Digital Farming Solutions- Bayer/ Climate 3/2023 to 10/2023

I was the Program Manager and Scrum Master/ Coach for two ART “Core” Teams at Bayer/Climate. As a Scrum Master and Coach I worked with the two Enterprise Database Groups to perform data analytics to support the Agile Scrum Dev Ops and Engineering Teams. We created farming crop management software with carbon sequestration support data to combat global warming. I was tasked and involved with coaching, mentoring and creating high performing Agile Teams, for the company. The Deep Science Warehouse (DSW) and Business Analytics Warehouse (BAW) groups maintained and created curated cloud based company management data and product data; including weather, satellite imaging and farm equipment application data gathered with the custom imbedded hardware interface.

Created the Team’s Processes for the Administration of the SAFe/Agile Scrum Program.

Used Agile coaching and conflict resolution techniques to streamline the Communication Process for all Team resources, so they could work more efficiently.

Created a simple way in Jira to prioritize and maintain the service support work; so it could be efficiently handed- off to Team Members at the start of each new Sprint.

As a RTE/Scrum Master I created an AI Lab and my Teams used data analytics to create a Machine Leaning AI Engine to predict Customer purchasing behavior. I was the Scrum Master/RTE ISRM using Vault Security Secrets Program for the Enterprise and the Asset Management program. I transitioned to a Team that created micro service applications to track core aspects of the business including the management of assets, change control and other requirements. The SharePoint sites and management and reporting systems that I developed and maintained are used by T-Mobile’s internal customers to facilitate the management and maintenance of the Agile Scrum Teams for Business Operations. We used Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Team Foundation Server (TFS) to manage the Team.

I was the Technical Program Manager and Scrum Master/ Coach- Trainer for Learning Experience Team and the ISRM Team at Microsoft in Redmond Washington. I acted as a Scrum Master and then a Trainer and Coach to seven offshore workgroups and 4 onshore workgroups to create high performing Agile Scrum Dev/ Engineering Teams. We used the SAFe methodology to co-ordinate the deliverable dependencies between the Teams. We also found that the other Teams appreciated having a greater understanding of the total scope of the project that SAFe provides. We created web based software with ADA compliant support to meet the business requirements for this large software development company. These projects create and manage web based IT Security tools and strategic data analytics to meet Business Intelligence (BI) requirements at this company.

First ISRM Transition Team Scrum Master to facilitate the move from TFS to Visual Studio On-line (VSO).

Created a phased 30/60/90-day transition platform from Waterfall to Agile Scrum using VSO for Web based software development.

Program Manager- Scrum Master, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) At the Boeing Company and T-Mobile 03/2014– 06/2015

Assignment #2- I was the Program Manager and Scrum Master for the Service Excellence Team and I created high performing Agile Scrum Workgroups that support the Enterprise Database Group for a large Aerospace and Defense contractor. Our efforts have dramatically improved the service provide by TCS to this Customer. The “Zero Defects” initiative has proved so successful that we are expanding this effort, of process improvement, to a wider audience, to support the Big Data requirements for this multinational company.

Assignment #1- I managed Teams of on-shore and off-shore Software Developers and produced cloud based software applications and web sites. The Agile Teams typically use the following tools: HTML 5, Java, Adobe Experience Manager (CQ5), and Rally Agile Project Management Software. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) supports clients locally like Microsoft, Boeing, and T-Mobile.

Director of Technology Development, Realty in Motion 09/2013- 02/2014

I managed a Team of 5 Program Managers and 42 developers (on-shore and off-shore) to build enterprise software to run a law firm that supported the financial service industry; operating in 17 states. We used the Team Foundation Server (TFS) environment and the projects were managed using Agile Scrum methodology. I conducted regular coaching seminars with the Program Managers to assure Agile best practices. The software product, that I was most concerned with, was a data analytics program to manage financial information developed with Microsoft Visual Studio and used the Microsoft Workflow Engine to manage workflow automation.

Created Change Control standards to provide more robust operational productivity.

Created specific Project Plans to deploy the custom enterprise software to the individual states the company operated in.

Developed the educational standards to train Users to be highly effective when using our enterprise software.

Senior IT Project Manager/ Scrum Master, Sogeti IT Consulting 01/2008- 09/2014

I worked as the Scrum Master with a Software Development Team that created software for a Machine to Machine (M2M) device. This is an Azure Cloud Project to manage a remote 4G and Wi-Fi connected device using the Agile Scrum methodology. The software (ASP.Net, MVC, Web API using Team Foundation Server (TFS) for code storage, backup and Scrum Team Board) can manage the device remotely by pushing updates and retrieving data logs; stored on the device, from the cloud anywhere in the world that has web connectivity.

I was the IT project Manager for the 5Mil IT infrastructure upgrade at Mount Baker Dam. This involved SCADA control systems, wireless DAS, Microwave and traditional IT buildouts. I participated on numerous committees with both Senior Management and Department Heads to create a Project Management Office (PMO) at Puget Sound Energy (PSE). I was also intimately involved with the preparation of the IT framework that included an intranet web site, where ideas could be incubated, and contained a project intake engine that produced the final business case. These business cases could then be presented, in a common reporting format, which included a comprehensive summary; so, they could be quickly reviewed by Senior Management. This allowed for IT projects to be selected, or rejected, based upon their real value to the organization rather than some other abstract rational.

I created Project Plan standards that helped transition the IT Services Team from being late and over budget to a Team that finished on time and on budget.

I was the Project Manager and worked with the Distribution Operations Group at PSE to develop a cellular network for wireless fault detection that reported to a custom Web Site. This was the first time at PSE that cellular wireless technology was deployed and used in this way.

Personal Interests and Accomplishments:

I enjoy fishing, skiing, mountain climbing, music, photography and woodworking. I successfully planned and lead an expedition that summited on Mt. McKinley; the highest peak in North America. I also designed and built my own custom log home and recording studio. I am currently working on a 400 sq. ft. micro house powered by solar energy.
