OBJECTIVE

Seeking a management position as Plant Manager/Prod Manager/Manager Project in a large Cement, Lime, Chemical manufacturing and Oil Refining Facility comprising of multiple tasks of plant operations, plant upgrading & stabilization, projects completion, methods for organizational improvement; strategic planning and responsibility of cost-effective operation.

PROFILE

An innovative, energetic and experienced chemical engineer with a broad background in managing, commissioning, operations, process engineering, trouble shooting and upgrading of the Cement, and lime producing plants. Thoroughly familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S), identifying Barriers related to the equipments, process and their solutions. Co-ordinated the replacement of a warp shell section and two Tyres in Lime kiln in Hamilton, Canada. Was responsible for completing two projects in Cement plant, including redesigning, revamping and commissioning of two Fuller grate coolers in Saudi Arabia.

In mineral processing successfully commissioned two Oil and Coal fired Ferronickel kilns for Laterite ore including two Dryers and a Coal grinding ball mill in Brazil. Completed and coordinated the project activities of a 6000 TPD cement plant and commissioning in Nigeria and 3000 TPD cement plants in Zambia and in Congo. I was Production Manager of this 3000 TPD cement plant in Republic of Congo after completing this project and commissioning it. Worked as Manager Project in a 3000 TPD cement plant in California and completed various new projects including a NEW BAGHOUSE for IKN cooler and modification of IKN Cooler and upgrading of alternative fuels to feeding system.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Completed a 1260 bags new bag house for the existing IKN cooler with modifying the IKN cooler converting the 7compartment cooler to and 8 compartments with a new fan.

Was responsible for designing and completing a New Overhead Pneumatic conveying 10-inch diameter line with 300 ft length to the cement silos as underground line got jammed with water leakage in 60 hours.

Team Lead for the commissioning of 6000 tpd cement plant, performed the Performance guarantee test for acceptance of all the units in Nigeria for Dangote group.

As Deputy General Manager Project was responsible for the compliances and monitoring the quality of workmanship during the insatallation of 3800 tons refractory and installation of process measuring points in Dangote cement plant in Nigeria, Zambia and in Congo.

Successfully commissioned the 3000 TPD cement plant in Zambia, Congo and commissioned the Packing plant with 3 rotary packers and 6 autoloaders and big bag loading machine.

Commissioned a White Cement Clinker grinding system of 130 TPH capacity having a UMS mill with Slide Shoe driven by a single side driven motor of 6850 KW with Maag Gear Box and a High efficiency N 3500 O-Sepa Seperator in Canada.

Commissioned a new KFS-GLS Kiln Burner with direct Coal firing system for 200,000. m tons Lime Kiln in Canada for Carmeusena.

Improved the outputs of the mills in the Cement and Raw Grinding Circuits by auditing the mill performances keeping a track of charges, this improved the Raw mill performance by 27% and 2 days each week for the preventive maintenance of the mill. This increased the mills’ availability and reduced the power consumption per ton of raw meal to 22 Kwh/ton.

Introduced Comprehensive Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Programmed for the 7 Auto Bag filling and Auto Truck Loaders in Packhouse which improved the Loading Equipment availibility and increased the loading capacity and the operation reduced from 3 shifts to only 2 shifts a reduction of 33% manhours for 9500tonsof cement despatcher this was a saving for the SPCC.

Alternative fuel burning was first time introduced in Dangote cement plant in Zambia in 2016 when the discarded damaged bags -50 tons from packing plant were burnt safely in the kiln by procedure designed by me. Also similarly damaged bags were burnt as a start in the firing hood of Dangote plant in Congo in 2019.

Completed and coordinated construction of new Bag house for 3000 TPD cement plant and procured Equipment’s for the modification of IKN for the cooler by modifying the compartments. Also updated the AF feeding system by replacing the tipping valves with a Rotary feeder. Was responsible for coordinating the design and construction of the rotary feeder from India.

Modified the kiln’s feeding system for the 3rd new line and increased the production by10% of 4000 TPD cement kiln in Saudia Arabia for SPCC.

Re Designed the Air Beam Technology System and Custom fit for both the Fuller Grate Coolers which improved the heat recuperation and reduced the maintenance cost of the coolers internals this increased the availability of the coolers 24X7 as against the continuous failure of the cooler internals after it was modified by the Fuller with a huge investment. This project was completed in 14 days for each cooler under my supervision.

Improved the productivity of Mobile Thysenn Krupps 1200t/h impact crusher by suppressing dust emission by installing water spraying system on the Apron feeder.

Solved the earlier failure problems of the bricks and castable in the kilns cooling zone and cooler’s bull nose roof by selecting the right type of castables improved the life span.

Successfully coordinated a number of yearly major turnarounds of Cement and Lime kilns. Coordinated the Kiln Shell replacement and two Tyre replacements in Carmeuse in Canada.

Introduced Burning of shredded polyethylene cement bags in the New Kiln in Zambia which saved the land filling, handling of Bags and providing Alternative Fuel for the kiln at no cost.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Supervised and coordinating the activities in Kiln, preheater and cooler erection projects and implementing the quality assurance at each stage and following the project protocols for 6000, 3000 TPD kilns with Double and single string Preheater with inline Precalciners and IKN Pendulum coolers.

As a Team Lead coordinated the commissioning of 6000 and 3000 TPD cement plant’s kiln, Loesche mills in Raw and Cement grinding in Nigeria, Zambia and in Republic of Congo

Commissioning, Operation and optimization of Ferronickel kilns in Brazil.

Trouble shooting the Burner Management System (BMX) and Distributed Control System of Kilns.

Setting Specifications, guarantees, warranties for New Equipments, consumable items, raising purchase indents, negotiate and interact with the suppliers for their performances.

Cement and Lime plants Yearly Production Budget planning, its implementation and control.

Commissioning, decommissioning of refinery equipment’s, distillation columns, heaters, coolers, pumps, piping, vessels and storage tanks for hot works as per Refinery standards.

Supervised the loading of the Radial Flow Reactors Catalyst of the Platforming, Naphtha and Kerosene Hydrobon Units.

Excellent experience of commissioning, operating, optimizing and troubleshooting on single and multichannel burners of Coen, Pillard, KHD and KFS for Cement, Lime Kilns with Oil, Pet Coke, Coal and Gas also Raymond Bowl Mills in Lime plant.

Keep track of high-quality filter bags and suppliers to improve the Dust collector’s performance and increase the lifetime of filtering equipments.

Trained the control room engineers and operators in the cement plant and in Ferronickel plant (Brazil) thru Portuguese interpreters. Can speak fluently Turkish and Arabic.

Manager Projects.

Was responsible and coordinated the construction and erection of a large cooler Baghouse for the existing 3000 s tpd cooler having 7 compartments with IKN.

Coordinated the procurement of the parts for modifying the IKN cooler to add new fan the new compartment to improve the clinker outlet temperature. Did studied the AF feeding system and replaced the tipping valves old system with a motorized Rotary feeder. This feeder construction was coordinated during its manufacturing process in India. Coordinated an overhead cement conveying pipeline as the underground pipe (60 Years old) got damaged with water and jammed.

Responsible for commissioning and coordinating the commissioning activities of 6000 tpd double string cement plant in Nigeria, 3000tpd single string cement units in Zambia and in Congo. These cement units have VRM from Loesche from IKN. Sinoma China was the main contractor providing equipments from FLSmidth, Claudius Peters, Five Pillard, Siemens, Havoc and Beumer, Gamma Metrics.

Presently I am the Production Manager of this 3000 tpd unit.

Was responsible for commissioning the UMS-Unidad Mill with Slide-Ball Mill having a capacity of 130 TPH for white clinker grinding. The mill was powered by 6580 Kw motor with Single Side Drive with Maag Gera Box. The System was Equipped with O Sepa N 3500 high efficiency Separator. This unit belongs to Federal White Cement, Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. The CCR operators were trained to operate this mill for normal operation and to trouble shoot the problems to maximize production.

Worked for FLSmidth-minerals on their Ferronickel project in Brazil. Commissioning

2 kilns rated each at 1.4MMtpy. Includes a Dual Fuel Burner with Burner Management System and Distributed Control System managing 4 onboard tertiary fans and adding reductant coal into kiln. Two Dryers for drying ore and a Coal Mill for fueling the Kilns and Dryer. Included is a dust recovery management system and training for the staff.
