Projects

Customer Churn Prediction Tool Using Deep Learning I built a customer churn prediction tool that accurately predicts if a current customer will end their health insurance policy within the next six months. I performed data analysis and feature engineering collecting feedback from stakeholders, five years of customer data, and over 400k customers. I implemented this system using IBM Watson, TensorFlow, and other tools. I recently presented the prototype and findings to senior management. Employee Churn Prediction Tool

I built an ML tool that predicts the risk of individual employee retention and group attrition rates. I was able to boost prediction accuracy from 85% using traditional methods to over 93% with dashboard visualizations, automated model updating, and hyper-parameter tuning automation for use on a cloud platform environment. Employee Performance Support Chatbot NLP

I designed and built a working prototype of an employee support chatbot trained with large conversational datasets and combined with curated company-specific responses. The bot can learn from experiences and improve over time while connecting employees to valuable on-the- job support resources. The program used NLPAUG and Word2vec libraries to expand the text dataset and improve NLP performance.

Computer Vision Projects

I have completed multiple projects in my studies using OpenCV to process computer vision data for OCR and other ML workflows. Experience with image segmentation and edge detection techniques for machine learning applications including object detection, facial recognition, license plate reading, image classification, and image generation using Generative Adversarial Networks. For example, I built a GAN that generates fake images of various cars, and a program to detect and read license plates.

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina — 2016-Present (62+ months) – Technical Training expert, currently transitioning to Data Scientist role. I designed and developed cutting-edge training products to support BlueCross’ 5,000+ employees and managers including technical training for over 500 software developers. Working with mid-level and senior management I recently created Online training components for their strategic change initiative for Agile and Dev Ops software development. I also lead the corporate online learning committee.

Interactive Multimedia Instruction Developer, Contractor for US Army — 2015-2016 (17 months)
