WORK EXPERIENCE
REGISTERED NURSE-EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
nWorking as an Emergency Registered Nurse. The role as an ED nurse involves triaging, caring for patients who come in through the ED, and making critical decisions before the provider see the patients. The role requires a close monitoring and frequent assessment and increased level of surveillance since the patient’s situation can change in a blink of an eye. Some patients receive complex medications that require titrations based on vital signs and laboratory values. Assist with a variety of bedside procedures including insertion and drainage (I&D), closed reductions and splints, laceration repair set ups, central line insertions, emergent intubations, cardio versions, and chest tube insertions.
