Senior Software Engineer, Eliassen Group, Remote (TX) 2/22 - 10/22 I worked on a team that developed and maintained internal product development and marketing tools on AWS. I added and updated REST API endpoints in Golang and integrated the React frontend with the API. Senior Software Engineer, Splice, Remote (TX) 6/21 - 8/21 I worked on application redevelopment by updating and adding REST API endpoints for backend data queries in Golang. Senior Software Engineer, Collabera (Capital One), Plano, TX 7/19 - 5/21 I worked in a cyber security team assisting with ServiceNow updates and requests, monitoring new security policy releases, and creating documentation to support our internal customers. I was also instrumental in helping to refine and improve team processes.

I also worked six months on the GitHub Enterprise team. I helped manage AWS GitHub instances, updated Chef infrastructure configuration, and provided internal user support. I added a logging feature and new MySql database to a Golang tool for GitHub and made updates to Kaibot for the Slack support channel. Senior Software Developer, With Reach, remote (TX) 10/18 - 6/19 I worked with a company that provides financial exchange services for online merchants. I updated the user API to add a new transaction feature; wrote a periodic database request using AWS Lambda; initiated, managed, and documented DevOps discussions and processes; and built a Jenkins server in AWS EC2. Application Architect III, Fahrenheit IT (Capital One), Plano, TX 3/18 - 10/18 I migrated a legacy C# web application from on-premises to AWS using CloudFormation and Chef.. It was the company’s first legacy Windows application to move to AWS, and I delivered the user-tested application to production on schedule with documentation and lessons learned for other migration teams. Senior Developer, Darwin Ecosystem, Dallas, TX 3/17 - 5/17 I developed a prototype chatbot using IBM Watson Conversation and worked directly with the client to verify requirements, test, and demo the chatbot. I also updated and created Confluence documentation and managed tasks in Jira. Data Engineer, Collabera (Capital One), Plano, TX 10/15 - 12/16 I wrote Golang microservice plugins to process large volumes of data for internal sales metrics. I implemented a process change that reduced code duplication and development time, which initiated the development of internal libraries. I also helped to improve code and runtime efficiency by suggesting code changes and adding functionality to internal libraries. I stood up a Jenkins server in Windows and created jobs to build and deploy C# applications from Team Foundation in Visual Studio online to servers for each deployment environment. I also managed the team's Confluence wiki and updated and created team documentation. I primarily worked with the DevOps team to stand up, configure, and maintain on-premises deployment environments; update and debug Ruby and C# code for software builds, deployments, and installations; support continuous integration, testing, and deployment with Jenkins; and perform and support regular software releases. Software Engineer II, Raytheon IIS, Garland, TX 6/09 - 4/13 I helped with debugging and feature additions for an Android-based tactical communication system in support of a customer demonstration, which resulted in a new contract. I created a Java Swing GUI to control and monitor external REST web applications. I also used JDBC (Java 6) to develop a prototype SOAP-based Oracle interface and a web client test application. I designed and wrote the performance metrics collection functionality of a C++ proof-of-concept. I also wrote an interface to an external control application in C++ with XML configuration, then managed the testing, integration, delivery, and customer training of the first baseline with the new component. I performed software metrics collection for the program. As part of this effort, I developed a PL/SQL parser in Perl to collect code counts for an SQL codebase.

On my first program, I contributed to the expansion of an Java-based application simulator using XML-based messaging. Graduate Technical Intern, Rockwell Collins, Inc., Richardson, TX 4/06 – 5/09 While working on my master’s degree, I interned in the modeling and simulation lab and co-authored a paper published by the Military Communications Conference (MILCOM) in 2006. I collaborated on software design in Telelogic Rhapsody using Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF), System Modeling Language (SysML), and Unified Modeling Language (UML). Utilizing advanced tactical scenario, network simulation, and 3D visualization software to design graphical network simulations which integrated with actual software-defined radios to validate radio models and provide greater confidence in the simulation. I also helped to build multi-level MetaFlight terrain maps. Utilizing AutoIt, I wrote an application to automate the use of a Windows GUI test tool, allowing regular compliance verification while reducing the number of engineering hours used for testing. Vehicle Liquidations Representative, Volvo Car Finance, Albuquerque, NM 2/05 – 4/06 I used Workflow software and account management databases to invoice automotive accounts at the end of lease and provided phone support to customers and dealers. I also researched and resolved account issues while maintaining customer privacy. During my employment, I helped to clarify and correct several invoicing processes. Various Roles, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 6/98 - 2/04 I was the Development Assistant in the College of Fine Arts. I helped to write, design, and edit documents and publications, including articles for the college newsletter. I assisted with successful fundraising activities, processed donations to the college, tracked the office budget, updated records in the University alumni/donor database, and performed research. I also designed an interoffice process for college donations and created guidelines for my job duties. Prior to that role, I was a Data Entry Operator in the UNM Bookstore. I maintained the data management system and created, updated, and maintained inventory records. I helped to streamline database records and improve annual inventory reconciliation. I created purchase orders for department inventory, assisted customers, and supervised student employees.

When I started my degree, I worked in various work study and student employment roles. I spent almost two years with Alumni Relations performing administrative and clerical duties. I used WordPerfect, Word, and Excel to write and produce correspondence, brochures, marketing information, and online documentation. I created and maintained mailing databases, generated reports, updated alumni records, and assisted visitors. I also worked in the university library Rare Books Room and General Collections for a semester. I assisted patrons, checked books in and out, shelved books, and created book jackets.

I processed payments, dealt with policyholder services, managed premium checkbooks, and tracked policies. The position involved extensive in-house research, efficient and accurate data processing, and maintenance of client confidentiality. I used Word and Excel to redesign for applicant interview procedures, design and manage an applicant database, and track employee success rates. I also assisted visitors. In previous assignments, I formatted and edited text for proposals and marketing materials, performed data entry, managed AP/AR and payroll accounting, and performed administrative duties. Retail Shift Supervisor, Wargames West, Albuquerque, NM 6/94 - 1/95 I performed customer service duties in a retail establishment. This included working the register, closing the daily register, running reports, performing data entry, and managing inventory in Cougar Mountain Software. I also assisted with purchasing and trained new employees.

Part-Time Clerical Assistant, UNM Native American Program-College of Engineering, Albuquerque, NM 11/93 - 6/94

I edited and formatted documents for grant proposals to follow RFP specifications and created charts for various projects. I also designed and managed several program databases and tracked program participants using DataPro. All work was performed in MacOS software.
