PROJECT SANDI GRANT MANAGER (1-year Administrative Contract)
As part of a team within Western Nevada College, I carried out the deliverables, supported and managed the SANDI grant, and collaborated with internal and external stakeholders including NSHE, GOWINN, GOED, JOIN and Nevada Career Explorer.
Ensured Grant compliance and accuracy and was responsible for quarterly and annual reporting for retention, student success, budgets, and enrollment statistics.
Promoted the approved short term educational programs and recruited students through direct student contact, during classroom presentations, working closely with Division Chairs and instructors and campus departments, direct emails, phone calls and word of mouth. I screened and determined applicant eligibility, facilitated equipment and materials purchases, tracked student progress both during the student’s program and throughout six months after completion.
Partnered directly with the faculty in the Workforce, Career and Technical (WCTE) division, which allowed me to best serve the students for grant support and future course selections.
Assisted with academic planning to ensure the students in the WCTE programs had a clear path and a next step in their educational journey and future careers.
Collaborated with Division Chairs and faculty to enhance course offerings to best benefit students in their futures.
Introduced Virtual Reality headsets to faculty and students with pre-loaded educational curriculum to enhance learning and access to additional study strategies.

As Dean of Academic Affairs, I managed all faculty and built a team that helped propel Carrington College California, Citrus Heights Campus, from the most under-performing campus throughout the entire Carrington College system to one of the top performing campuses in Profitability, Student Success, and Retention in the first 18 months of tenure.
Applied administrative and operational management skills to effectively plan, manage budgets, and all associated programmatic and campus accreditation requirements.
Human Resource responsibilities included recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and professional development, as well as investigation, disciplinary situations. I also managed employee satisfaction and appreciation events.
Led a team of industry experts and educators, steering curriculum development and delivery, along with cultivating a learning environment that ensured consistency and promoted student success.
Oversaw allocation and management of resources and support services to maximize student retention and success.
Proactively contributed as a member of the Campus Management Team to the effective planning and coordination of the academic department activities with all other departments to ensure campus-wide operational efficiency.
Initially on-boarded to provide guidance and support to students teaching learning strategies and study skills, while continuously enhancing instruction and support services and tools for both students and faculty.
Promoted to the leadership role as Dean of Academic Affairs, steering delivery of educational and academic support programs at the campus level.
Successfully built, within 4 months of conception, a program to support students in all learning aspects, including building a team of 3 support staff and 20+ tutors assisting more than 200 students, that achieved an 87% academic success rate, an increase of 15% and a retention rate of over 75%, meaning the percentage of students who completed their academic certificates/programs, equating to an increase of 10% in program completion.
