“Effects of transformational leadership on safety performance in the United States commercial trucking industry”, Louisiana Tech Digital Commons, 2021 Conclusion: Future employee selection, training, and professional development may benefit from testing for leadership and personality types. These processes may then be utilized to improve the safety outcomes of trucking companies and other remote workforces.
“Trends in behavior-based safety: What adjustments will be made for cost-effective, perpetual safety improvement? A literature review”, publication pending, 2023 Abstract: An academic literature review exploring the role of research on transformational leadership, organizational behavior, job crafting, and other industrial-organizational psychology theories on the development and future of behavior-based safety (BBS) in industry and construction.
Conclusion: The global economy and technological advances in the workforce will present new challenges on behavior-based safety programs. Solutions may be gleaned from reviewing empirical data of the nearly century-long behavior-based safety research, and continuing it into the future.
