I also completed an internship (between April-May 2022) while I was in Mexico for a study away semester. The organization is a non-profit group known as Fundación En Vía located in Oaxaca, Mexico. I recorded data, made phone calls to families, showed respect and appreciation to the indigenous peoples we worked with, posted advertisements, created surveys, and helped design the course instruction templates this organization is using as part of their curriculum for this fall. En Vía’s mission is to promote the empowerment of indigenous women by offering them financial loans sans interest payments and free educational services in very rural indigenous communities. Contact Dafne Calderon, director: https://www.envia.org/ In 2019, I participated in a PLU school of business course: Intro to Business Global Environment in which I was included with a team of students to start a real business (my company was called

“Cool Socks”) in which we physically created, produced, marketed, and sold tie-dyed socks at a profit. My business quadrupled their profits by month 5 compared to the first month of sales and we were able to quickly pay back the loan we accepted to invest into marketing our product during the 2nd quarter by the end of our 3rd quarter. Our company finished well each quarter of which there were 4. I was also the team lead and presided over multiple departments, chiefly financing. All proceeds were donated to the SmileTrain charity association. Contact Dr. Kory Brown of PLU’s School of Business: ad2q4c@r.postjobfree.com
