Created start-up company to develop the Automated Concierge and SkiCams software application and web presence, both before their time and not accepted by the public. Started as a brainchild of mine to develop a micro-target-marketing kiosk that resided in hotels using touchscreen technology of the time to present through a series of on-screen questions from the user a variety of information on restaurants – including menus, entertainment, shopping, etc. while adding to the user experience a phone handset to make reservations while a map and coupon printed from the kiosk. The SkiCams project was another brainchild to place commercial grade cameras (the same cameras used by CDOT today) and camera enclosures mounted at key locations at ski resorts integrating micro-target-marketing over the internet for a subscription fee. SkiCams prototype cameras were placed at Cooper Mtn and quickly purchased from us by the Warren Miller organization developing SkiCam. The Automated Concierge was hard for retailers to understand at the time and the concept was closed with the SkiCams purchase.

Managed accounting staff of twenty cross functional members, fifteen tele-marketing/order desk staff, a software development department of five, and a shipping/packing department of five. As the Corporate Controller for the sole wholesale distribution of beauty industry line of products in Colorado and New Mexico of Paul Mitchel, Lanza, Logics, Brocato International, etc. line of products. Responsible for automating order processing with accounting and shipping. Took a COTS Accounting product and modified it to the industry to incorporate customer relations management where upon incoming phone call the caller ID brought up on the order desk screen customer information, credit limits, previous purchase information, and purchasing trends. After the order is taken the pick ticket printed in the warehouse which included the total quantities, the number of shipping boxes required, shipping labels, and total weight of the boxes which reduced shipping errors from 12% to 1%. Negotiated resell agreement with COTS Accounting Software manufacturer with the modifications made to tailor it to the wholesale distribution trade. Sold the Accounting product to other Paul Mitchel distributors in Oregon, Washington, and New York where installation, configuration, and training on the product was included. Negotiated with local computer systems integrator to provide the computer hardware.
