DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY (CHARLOTTE, NC / HAYWARD, CA)

Chemical Operator 2006 – 2019

Shift Activity Coordinator: Supervised seven employees—dispersed the workload for the shift and ensured the work was conducted in a safe manner.

Reactor Operator: Polymer and Resins. Formulated molecules’ particle sizes in a 12k and an 8k gallon pressurized reactor to create an emulsion for the base to paint, glue and adhesive; using Emerson Delta V program.

Tank Truck Loader/Unload: Load and unloaded 5k gallon Tank Trucks of finished product.

Railcar Loader/Unload: Load and unloaded 25k gallon Railcars of finished product.

DOT 111A, 105J (S) Hazardous Railcars unloading: Unloaded Monomers into storage tanks, using proper personal protective equipment, ie.. Respirator and Tyvec suits.

Drum line Operations: Packaged liquid finished product into 55 gallon drums, 2,200 lbs. totes and five gallon pails for shipments.

Filtration Operations: Transfer and filtered/removed the Gel (Grit) from the finished product to storage tanks.

Yard Spotter: Drive/trained Ottawa Yard Spotter to move Tank Trucks and Box Trailers at the facility.

Waste Treatment: Collected the plant’s Waste Water—used Sulfuric Acid and Ferric Chloride to separate the effluent and sludge in order to obtain a proper PH level to send the ‘Clear Water’ to the city.

Process Operator: Processed batches to remove hazardous chemicals and add preservatives.

Equipment: Maintained the functionality of positive displacement air diaphragm and centrifugal pumps. Working knowledge of Gate, Ball and Check Valves to include piping, flanges and line tracing.

Weigh up Technician: Gathered the ingredients for the batches to be made.
