A challenging engineering position emphasizing problem solving, organization, and communication skills. Education:

University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA. Graduated with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Physics in May 1994. Member of the U.C. Berkeley College of Engineering Academic Honor Roll entire tenure in school. Relevant Skills:

• AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, solid modeling, database, spreadsheet, word processor, and finite element analysis.

• Capabilities, safety, and operation of manufacturing machines and processes, including CNC mills and lathes, several types of saws, routers, casting, shearing, punching, bending, laser cutting, metal and plastic welding, brazing, vapor deposition, sputtering, flame spray, alodine, anodize, electrolytic and electroless nickel plating.

• Fluid controls, heat transfer, structural applications, sandwich composites, manufacturing, and logistics.

• Documentation creation and control, including component and assembly drawings, process control flowcharts, bills of materials (BOM), inventory management, assembly instructions, requisition orders, inspection and quality control checklists, engineering change orders (ECO), maintenance schedules, and user manuals. Relevant Experience:

Mechanical Engineer: Cybor Corp., San Jose, CA 05/98 – 11/98

• Designed and built a chemical distribution unit to distribute a copper in sulfuric acid solution, boost pressure to 60 psi at 20 gpm, control temperature at 20 1 C, and filter to 0.5µ for the silicon wafer fabrication industry.

• Designed and built a radiative water heating module to heat deionized water to 70 C at 5 gpm with less than 10 psi pressure drop.

• All designs were completed using 3D solid models with external references and active database linking. Mechanical Engineer: Adaptive Systems, San Jose, CA 03/97 – 05/98

• Designed and supervised the production, assembly, and testing of fourteen lines of burn-in chambers for the integrated circuit testing industry.

• Converted all parts and assembly drawings to 3D models with external references and active database linking.

• Standardized existing designs and created and organized the associated drawings and bills of materials, decreasing the total number of mechanical parts by 30% and the cost of those parts by 20%, resulting in savings of over $30,000 annually.

• Developed an inventory control system and database to streamline the ordering, receiving, inspection, stocking, and release of parts.

• Created procedures and flowcharts to define project process control, from point of sale through shipment. Mechanical Engineer: BECO Manufacturing Co., Inc., Laguna Hills, CA 01/95 – 04/96

• Designed and supervised the production and testing of plastic fittings and valves for the silicon wafer fabrication and semiconductor industries, including manifolds, pressure regulators, air cylinders, stopcocks, and diaphragm, pressure relief, metering, in-line, check, and ball valves.

• Designed and supervised the production and testing of a line of Teflon reciprocating pumps and cleanroom plumbing and fluid control systems for the silicon wafer fabrication and semiconductor industries.

• Converted all parts and assembly drawings to 3D models with external references and active database linking.

• Developed a complete database of parts, assemblies, and tooling for inventory control and to enable search and retrieval of drawings and eliminate duplication of design and production efforts. Associate Engineer: ERG Materials and Aerospace Corp., Oakland, CA 06/92 – 06/94

• Researched, tested, and characterized advanced composite materials for mechanical, structural, heat transfer, and filtration applications.

• Characterized Duocel aluminum foam brazed composite sandwich panels for stiff, lightweight optical mirrors.

• Designed and supervised the prototyping and production of components to customer specifications. For example: Designed a 100,000 rpm SiC ceramic matrix composite shaft for a Rotoflow manufacturing process. Designed and manufactured a cross-flow heat exchanger for a Rocky Research experiment. Designed and manufactured a phase change heat sink for a Deutsche Aerospace rocket nozzle. Designed and prototyped an underwater shock wave attenuator for a Raytheon pressure vessel. Assisted in the production and testing of the Long Life cryogenic cooler for the Lockheed Spirit 3 satellite. Assisted in the production and testing of optical mirrors for the Abrams M1 Main Battle Tank. Assisted in the production of baffles for a Northrop rocket engine.

• Researched and tested low-VOC solvent replacements and alternative resin coating technologies.

• Investigated various coating technologies, including chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, sputtering, flame spray, alodine, anodize, electrolytic plating, and electroless (nickel) plating. Teaching and Lab Assistant: University of California at Berkeley 09/89 – 05/93

• Served as a Teaching Assistant for the Departments of Math and Physics.

• Served as a Laboratory Assistant for the Department of Civil Engineering.

• Prepared asphalt test samples using a sieve, scale, mixer, ovens, heated roller, and diamond tipped drills and saws.

• Tested asphalt samples for air void content, density, strength, and cyclic fatigue performance. Other Experience:

Assembly Technician: Advantage Solutions 05/20 – present

• Assembling products on site at big box stores (part time / seasonal). Teacher: Public Bay Area School Districts 10/15 – present
