Bechtel (SABCO), NEOM Project, Sharma, Saudi Arabia. 2022 – 2023. Senior Construction Engineer - PMC

Neom is a Megaproject located near Sharma on the West coast of Saudi Arabia. I worked as a PMC Senior Construction Engineer on the Delta Junction of The Spine project. In this project, I

• Played an active role in reviewing project documents like Inspection and test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements (MS), Shop drawings, As-Built drawings, Technical Queries (TQ), Technical Change Requests (TCR), Request for information

(RFI), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Field Change Documents (FCD), monthly quantities, invoices, claims, and variations.

• Reviewed contractor’s submittals like plans, calculations, material submittals, estimates, and specifications. Prepared daily, weekly, and monthly quantities.

• Monitored the work orders to make sure works were carried out as per the approved drawings, project specifications, and the Scope of works.

• Monitored the progress and identified the trends as per the approved baseline schedule and four-week look-ahead schedule. Identified the critical milestones, priorities and updated the recovery plan.

• Made sure the site works progressed smoothly with continuous work fronts, availability of necessary resources on-site, and required documents in place. Also made sure the required permits and licenses were in place before starting works on site.

• Chaired daily and weekly meetings related to progress, quality, and interface with the contractors, management, Client representatives, and other stakeholders. Attended Kick-off and stage gate review meetings with contractors and management.

• I successfully delivered the WO-50 (The Connector-Existing utilities and infrastructure survey by Fugro-Suhaimi). In this work order, I supervised the existing Utility and Infrastructure Surveying works (Topographic and geophysical) from CH 0+000 to 81+840. We recorded the existing structures like culverts, bridges, manholes, and duct banks. We also recorded all types of dry and wet utilities above and below the ground using the topographical and geophysical methods in the rail corridor area. Produced reports and developed Scope of works for utility systems for all the future work orders coming on the project. I ensured that the closure of the work order was done successfully and systematically in all aspects.

• I worked on the WO-07(THE CONNECTOR Rail Corridor Early Works from CH 75+000 to CH 81+840 by NBC) in Lot 13 which is expected to be completed soon.

a) The work includes excavation, haulage, and maintenance of stockpiles. Approximately 4.5 million cubic meters of soil, weak rock, and hard rock were excavated for the main trench. b) Excavation of Central Portal which includes 1.3 million cubic meters of soil, weak and hard rock; blasting of hard rock, shotcreting of benches, rock bolts fixing & testing. c) Excavation of 1.1 million cubic meters of soil, weak and hard rock for South Portal; shotcreting of benches and fixing and testing of rock bolts.

d) Completed the road works at the site entrance from Highway 8784 (1km long 4 lane) which includes the subbase, base course, and asphalt works along with road markings and road signs. e) Worked on the permanent asphalt access road (6km long 4 lane) going to other work orders with contractor Al Yamaha company.

Egis Rail (RMTC consortium), Riyadh Metro Project, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 2016 – 2022 Senior Civil Engineer - PMC

Train and mentor, a team of field engineers and inspectors. Coordinated with the design team, material engineer, MEP team, and HSE teams. Oversee daily construction operations in compliance with the project specifications, international standards, and the quality management system. Lead inspections, third-party material testing, assess contractor’s schedules, implement corrective actions, and maintain daily records. Collaborate with contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and management to discuss and resolve issues. Actively engage in weekly and bi-weekly meetings with client representatives, contractors, and stakeholders.

Projects Delivered:

• Led a team of site engineers to supervise various structural elements on the North side of Line 1 of the Riyadh Metro project.

• Completed bridges 1-4 and 1-5 in the North of Riyadh within the agreed deadline in coordination with the traffic department.

• Completed the RCC part of the iconic KAFD station in Riyadh three weeks before the set timeline.

• Supervised the construction of structural and architectural elements of 1A2& 1B1 Deep underground stations and elevated station 1Y1.

• Supervised the construction of viaduct sub-structures consisting of spread footings, mono shafts, typical piers, abutments, Interchanges, box culverts, pipe culverts, concrete encasements, and MSE walls.

• Supervised various types of architectural works in deep underground stations and elevated stations like paints, ceramic and porcelain tiles, aluminum composite panels, drywall partitions, glass partitions, GRC& GRG panels, external façade, elevators, and escalators.

• Worked on the Olaya-Batha Road corridor connecting the North and South parts of Riyadh city. The work includes rehabilitation and upgradation of the existing road to a 6-lane asphalt road with ample parking, footpaths, and greenery.

• Worked on the diversion of the existing utilities like drinking water pipes, drainage pipes, stormwater lines, telecom, and electric cables from the median to the side of the road due to clashing with the bridges/station piers.

• Coordinated with system teams to complete works in electrical, telecom, and signalling rooms; passenger screen doors (PSDs), and the testing and commissioning works.

• Attended multiple tests in third-party laboratories on different types of material like aggregates, soils, subbase, road base, asphalt, and concrete.
