Lileva Medical Center is a medical and aesthetic out-patient services Center that provides Laser, Dental and dermatology treatments and non-invasive procedures. I am on probation and training assigned in different areas by assisting the physician in certain procedures for Injectable, Body and facial treatments like Fillers, Botox, Hydrafacial, Dermapen, PRP (Platelet rich Protein) administrations, etc. I am also on training for Laser hair removal.

As a Derma Nurse I am assisting the patient upon entering the clinic, Identifying the patient’s information and which procedures or treatments they are posted; Taking Patient’s Assessment and medical histories, Vital signs and ushering them to Physician’s room. AMH is a private not-for-profit hospital Established in 1903 as the Mason Memorial Hospital, it was the first modern hospital in the country. Today, the hospital offers specialist medical, dental, and wellness services from its main branch in Manama, and from its three satellite clinics in the country.

I am assigned in a 20-bed medical and surgical ward. These include patients for pre- and post-surgery cases (Post hemorrhoidectomy, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy. Etc.) Medical cases (Hypokalemia, Hypoglycemia, Hypertensive crisis, Etc.); and also, Pediatric cases. On the latter year I was assigned mainly in Urology department in both Clinic and OR that includes Surgery cases and with the urologist like TURP, Ureterenoscopy with Laser stone removal/Lithotripsy, Cystoscopy, Cystolitholapaxy, Circumcisions, Etc. In some rotational schedule, I was also assigned in Clinics such as Orthopedic, Opthalmology, ENT, Psychiatric, OPD and Triage.

As a Staff Nurse I was assigned in my first year in AMH in MSPU (Med-Surgical and Pediatric ward and on the next year as a Nurse for Urologist. Basically, in MSPU the duties and responsibilities are promoting and restoring patients’ health by completing the Nursing Process; Collaborating with Physicians and Multidisciplinary team members; IV cannulation are mainly done, Checking of V/S. Providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends and families. Assessment, Nursing Notes, Following Doctors orders, Medication administrations, preparing patients for OR cases, Endorsing to OR staff nurses and receiving them post operatively back to ward with proper documentations thru electronic computer entering of data. And a year after I was assigned in UROLOGY DEPARTMENT wherein, I was able to assist the Urologist in case related conditions to urology; and from here I am able to expose in Operating room (Either to scrub or as circulating) in surgery cases like Ureterorenoscopy, Lithotripsy, Retro Intra-Renal Surgery, Circumcisions, Vasectomy, Etc.
