Project: Exxon Mobil Riser Repair Project (Offshore)
Duties:
Review the paint and blasting procedures.
Qualify the blasters and sprayers
Witness the Corrosion survey.
Check weather the corrosion is within acceptable limit.
Decide weather to cut and fabricate new pipe or to clad or paint only.
If painting then witness the climate checks.
Check the air quality.
Check the correct equipment usage.
Make sure the completed blast profile and cleanness are adequate.
Witness the painting and make sure that enough WFT applied.
Check and make sure that proper curing obtained and enough DFT prior to subsequent coat.
Check the quantity of consumable used and charged are the same.
Witness the DFT checks and tests are carried out and are within specification.
If all readings and tests are acceptable the sign off the reports.
Verify that there are no damages to the completed paint during the other operations.
Verify the materials consumable are enough for the next riser repair.
Verify all the batch certificates for consumable are in order.
Calculate the riser bond requirement as per specification.
Witness the riser clad preparations.
Witness riser clad mixing and makes sure that all the mixing done as per spec.
Inspect the completed riser clad for proper fixing of compression clamp and cleaning.
Conduct audits of QA/QC files for traceableity and calibrations are in order.
Report back to the main office all day-to-day work in progress.
Give technical advice and training to the local inspectors.

Check the raw material prior to paining to make sure it is O K for surface preparations
If no washing or any special preparations required release the material for surface preparations
Verify the climate conditions and metal temp is acceptable to spec.
Verify the quality of air and nozzle pressure acceptable for blasting
Separate the materials for different systems against the drawings provided
Verify the masking and the precautions prior to blasting are completed.
Identify the material colour codes prior to blasting
After the completion of blasting verify the cleanness and profile as per spec
Verify the handling of blasted items properly and make sure no contamination or dust over the surface
Make sure that the correct primer used and the mixing and thinning as per manufacturers instructions
Make sure that painters use WFT gauge to control the thickness to avoid wrong DFT after drying.
Verify proper drying and curing take place, then visual inspection for any defects
Verify the DFT with in spec, if no to advice supervisor to rectify.
Prepare Reports.
Co-ordinate with client inspector.
