My grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s dementia in 2017. He was able to still live independently with my grandmother until November 2021. He started becoming physically violent and did not remember who he was, where he was, or who any of us (his family) were. My family couldn’t afford to hire someone to be with him 24/7, so I made the decision to move in with my grandparents and care for my grandfather. I did this up until he passed away in October 2023.
