•May assist in street maintenance, building maintenance, or other public works projects.

•Operate power-driven equipment such as skip loaders, dump trucks, water trucks, and fork lifts.

•Perform a variety of maintenance work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of public infrastructure including: asphalt and concrete streets and shoulder areas, concrete sidewalks and storm drain structures, street signage, and pavement striping and legends.

•Perform a variety of tasks on street cleaning, asphalt patching, cement patching, drainage ditch cleaning, right-of-way debris removal and grading, sign installation/removal and replacement, and curb and legend painting.

•Remove and replace various concrete improvements including concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks. Break-out and remove concrete using jack hammer or kid steer, remove roots, prepare base, install forms, install and finish concrete.

•Assess, mark-out, repair asphalt roadways including removal and replacement of deteriorated asphalt. Cut and prepare streets for patches, spread premix and oil, rake asphalt, use appropriate compaction equipment.

•Paint traffic directional markings and curbs such as crosswalks, safety loading zones, directional arrows, and other pavement markings.
