Naval Health Clinic Annapolis, Brigade Medical Unit Dec 2019 to Present

Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) for 5 clinics: Naval Health Clinic Annapolis, MD and Naval Branch Health Clinics: Bancroft Hall, Anapolis, MD / Earle, NJ / Lakehurst, NJ / Philadelphia, PA

Coordinate with the Midshipmen Personnel Office to obtain and review all rosters of Midshipmen who travel abroad.

Review all medical and immunization records of midshipmen traveling abroad, checking for the individual’s conditions that could be negatively impacted by travel and verify required immunizations specific to areas of travel.

Review travel itineraries with midshipmen, providing counsel on location-specific health and travel hazards. Review safety briefs and provide Travax reports pertinent to their travel.

Administer necessary vaccinations. Provide all prophylactic medications required by travel destinations.

Staff Nurse (Family Practice)

Perform all duties as a Registered Nurse.

Supervise 20 enlisted personnel in the care of 4500 Midshipmen at the US Naval Academy.

Assist with difficult lab draws or IV starts; assist all medical providers with routine patient care; provide prompt medical care in the event of emergencies.

Coordinate after-care for midshipmen seen at outside facilities.

Manage all provider schedules and ensure all FTEs are met.

Work with the command Disease Management Nurse Specialist to identify and coordinate Well Woman Exam Evolutions for all female midshipmen over age 21 and facilitate an annual Gonorrhea / Chlamydia screening evolution for all female midshipmen.

With the Department Head and the Director of Brigade Medical, created and implemented a COVID 19 response plan to include isolation spaces, isolation monitoring, and screening evolutions. Provided ongoing care to midshipmen who contracted COVID 19.
