• Chief Risk Officer/Senior Risk Manager for the Commercial Real Estate Services (CRES) business unit, an industry leading CMBS primary and master servicer; responsible for all Credit, Market, and Operational risk performance of the unit, and all compliance, regulatory, and risk based initiatives conducted, including the oversight of all counter-parties, who were assessed utilizing a proprietary scoring methodology; responsible for all business unit enterprise risk, and risk mitigation activities of the business unit;

• Developed/Designed a comprehensive loan level portfolio risk management system (ICE) to assess risk within the business unit; the system categorises loans into low, moderate, and high level risk based upon pre-defined trigger metrics of loan and securitization performance; stratifications available include securitization performance, originators, rating agencies, trustees, etc.

• Provided value-added analysis and operational process improvement initiatives, including outsourcing initiatives, annual customer surveys, benchmarking studies, assessments/peer analysis, systems advisory, policy and procedure development and maintenance, rating agency relations, etc. Instrumental in many critical information technology projects associated with the Servicing business, such as the analysis and proof of concept for the FileNet imaging system, the initial creation of ReportGen, the development of the ICE automated risk rating system, the outsourcing analysis of multiple functions, and the creation of an automated Watchlist system.

• Created a Portfolio Surveillance Department focused on macro-economic trends and the impact of those trends on assets held in the portfolio in addition to providing intelligence regarding the portfolio; Performed analysis of leading economic indicators in order to assess trends and activity within the department, including delinquency activity by market, property type, sector, asset class, etc.; performed portfolio exposure analysis including tenant and bankruptcy event risk, to ensure accuracy in information being sent out to the marketplace; established market feeds from a variety of sources to provide intelligence on loans in the portfolio.

• Within the “Structured Finance Group”, a unit within Real Estate Capital Markets focused on the structuring, analysis, underwriting, and origination of bridge loans, mezzanine debt, and joint venture equity investments, across multiple asset types and including land acquisition and development. Lead the West Coast underwriting efforts of WB’s Structured Finance Unit, and managed the development of the group’s proprietary pro forma cash-flow models used for all asset types for debt and equity offerings.

•Performed “hands-on” asset management, across asset types; these activities included leasing related matters, property cost containment, property amenity upgrades, and face to face meetings with vendors engaged for repairs, deferred maintenance, etc.

• Within Wells Fargo’s Special Situations Group, acted as Asset Manager/Workout Officer on a large pool of complex commercial real estate assets, across all asset types; activities involved assessing strategies for loan extension, debt pay-down, deed in lieu of foreclosure, and formal foreclosure processes.

•Was named Manager/National Head of Wells Fargo’s Syndicated Transactions Group within the bank’s REO Division; this group was created within the Special Situations Group (SSG) in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008, and the merger of Wachovia and Wells Fargo;
