To: Human Resource Department and Hiring Agency,

• It gives me great pleasure to present my vitae, so that I may obtain an administrative position with your institution. I am confident that you will find that my desire to learn, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, effective instructional methods, and hands on experiences will be a positive asset to this educational learning environment. For a position with USA Jobs, I can and will perform any job or task assigned. My skillset is super wonderful and I am willing to learn, trainable, and look forward to new opportunities. For additional traits that I possess, I am able to provide the following tasks expertly:

• Provides expert guidance and assistance in the management of complex projects, studies, and action items related to program operations, keeping the Director informed of critical developments.

• Takes calculated risks to further program objectives and achieve measurable agency-wide actions toward diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

• Analyzes program performance facts and data to draw conclusions and provide recommendations.

• Reviews for approval strategies, processes, and resources for improving organizational performance or business process efforts, taking into consideration the potential contribution of new and emerging technologies.

• Represents the Agency in presenting, discussing, and developing operations programs, policies, and objectives, resolving misunderstandings or obtaining clarification of regulations and directives.

• Leads formulation of plans, policies, objectives, and standards ensuring program and technical directives are consistent with governing laws, regulations, and policy as they relate to operations.

• Ensures program management plans, reports, and reviews are developed, coordinated, and distributed in a timely manner and to a quality standard.

• Serves as immediate supervisor of a highly complex program and employees involving the development of major aspects of key agency and programs with national significance.

• Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. 2

As a positive role model and well-rounded educator, I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of collegiate, secondary, elementary, and preschool students including those who perform below, at, and above grade level. By obtaining several degrees and national board certification, I have a solid in-depth knowledge regarding effective teaching methods that help me accommodate different learning styles and methods to meet students’ unique needs. I encourage student learning by making sure that learning experiences are authentic and student centered. I also incorporate a variety of learning centers, various forms of technology, and multiple ways to ensure that all students are successful on all levels. In order to continue learning and growing in my career, I look for ways to enhance my abilities within the educational profession. By continuing my search for new knowledge that will impact students, teachers, and administrators, I am prepared to immerse myself in new, current, scientific research to help me refine my teaching techniques.

Teaching higher education, I have served in various capacities. As an Instructional Leader and Administrator in Greenville Public School District, Coordinator of the Teacher Residency Program for Sunflower County, and owner of Level Up Learning Center, I have collaborated with educators and institutions of higher learning to help grow and sustain a comprehensive reading program to ensure participants gain the knowledge, skills, and dispositions essential for effectively teaching P-12 students the literacy skills necessary for a productive life. Varied theoretical underpinnings, research-based methods, and national standards, which include but are not limited to, Barksdale Reading Institute, National Institute of School Leadership, the National Reading Panel and Common Core Standards, serve as guidelines for the professional knowledge and pedagogical knowledge taught in these workshops. I also had the opportunity to create effective literacy courses. Literacy courses are orchestrated in a manner that initially provides participants with foundational knowledge of the essential elements of reading and writing. That knowledge is subsequently broadened and deepened with additional literacy information as participants progress through the program. The additional workshops hone both the content and pedagogical knowledge participants will need as they teach a diverse population of students in all grade levels. In addition to many talents, for this past year, I have served as the Assistant Director of Federal and State Programs as well as the Director of Federal and State Programs, and School Improvement Coordinator in Secondary Education. By understanding and learning how the educational system works, I am now ready to move forward by learning more about grants management, and how to effectively manage both programmatic and fiscal responsibilities. Being granted an opportunity to work for this institution, I can spread new knowledge and help build a legacy of excellence. I am certain that once you’ve had a chance to review my vita, 3

you’ll agree that my enthusiasm and willingness to learn will make me an ideal candidate for the available position. I would be a valuable addition to your team. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Educationally Yours,

Kaysie S. Burton, Ed.D., NBCT
