Financial Reporting
●Provided all aspects of financial reporting needed for the Center and prepares preliminary budgets. Oversaw fiscal management and analysis CW3E sponsored projects, currently totaling approximately $20 million annually and employing approximately 50 staff, post-docs and researchers. CW3E is projected to double in 2-3 years.

●Assist Executive team, program and project managers in evaluation of overall financial status and needs. Works within the UCSD system to resolve budget inaccuracies, inconsistencies and identify charges that are unclear from the reporting system.
●Developed and implemented creative solutions to complex financial problems and issue affecting research within the limitations and structures of the University financial system and agency policies and federal laws.
●Train new and current staff in aspects of budgets, purchasing, express card, travel, disbursements, and usage of computerized and web-based accounting programs as is needed for CW3E executive team and project managers to execute their jobs.
●Provides department support in the areas of business process analysis and design, system or procedure testing and implementation, documentation, security, workflow, and customer feedback. Develops methods to extract information out of current financials systems for necessary financial reporting and tracking. Integrate within
CASPO business office to share and learn new financial tracking methods in the financial systems. Share methods with other financial analysts and CAPSO business office as necessary. Implements new methods.
●Serves as the Center's financial operations point of contact for the network of national and international sub-awardees, university and commercial partners and funding agencies. Funding sources include various federal (NOAA, NIST, USACE, USBR, NASA), state (DWR, SCWA) agencies as well as commercial and private entities.
●Applies professional concepts to perform moderate to complex financial or resource analysis to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and / or resource allocations. Work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), on the overall status of funding and expenditures.
