Objective: To utilize my Knowledge, Skills, and Experience to be a key team member in a Documents Control / Office Manger role for Utah based transportation projects.

Experience: I have 30 plus years’ experience working on both roadway design and construction management projects for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and federally funded, Utah local governments in the consultant industry mainly managing the project’s documents control requirements. Of my nearly 40-year career working in the civil industry, 18 are with UDOT working for Consultant Services as a Contract Officer as well as a Grant Administrator. Following my career with UDOT, my Office Manager / Documents Control roles began with consultants for 16 consecutive years mainly for the construction management phase and some experience with preconstruction design QA/QC compliance where the projects I worked on received accolades for proper compliance from the conceptual through advertisement. I typically work with Resident Engineers, Field Engineers, Inspectors, Lab Technicians, and local Contractors to ensure accurate and complete documentation for program compliance. My experience has allowed me to develop many relations with seasoned UDOT personnel while developing new associations with up-and- comers in the industry as well as many local governments and contractors who work in Utah’s transportation industry .industry. I also step outside of my roles to help the field crews with their needs from helping with maintaining certifications to distributing PPE.. I have also managed and ensured that report distribution for materials lab tests, daily reports and other time sensitive documents are properly being distributed to parties that need to see them. I typically work with Resident Engineers, Field Engineers, Inspectors, Lab Technicians, and local Contractors to ensure accurate and complete documentation for program compliance. I have a history of stepping outside of my general role to help the field crews with their needs from tracking and maintaining certifications to distributing field equipment such as onsite documentation tools and PPE In addition, I also have experience with grant writing for future project funding developmentopportunities.

Skills or Qualifications: I have considerable knowledge of business practices for associated with civil projects project from conception through delivery, close out, and post audits. I am proficient with MS Office, Internet, Outlook, Share Point, Procore, and haveI become versed with a company’s proprietary applications for including accounting and materials testing applications. I am particularly experienced with UDOT’s project management systems such as Masterworks, ProjectWise, PDBS and ePM.

Project Management: During a project’s construction phase, I coordinate preconstruction and partnering meetings and track submittals for project start-up. During the work, I track and maintain weekly progress meetings ensuring that topics are discussed and partnering evaluations are collected. I work with the team to verify approved submittals and pay items by the contractor are complete and process contractor submittals for approval and contractor pay estimates. I manage and verify certified payrolls for contractors and subcontractors. I also assist the RE to process cost estimates, changes orders, and field design changes. I oversee EEO required documents to ensure UDOT/FHWA program compliance. I also provide support for marketing strategies for project pursuits for state and local government projects and assist with contract administration.
