Commercial Claims Desk Examiner – Plano TX

American Family Insurance and have been trained to work commercial claims. Mainly renters type of claims and now starting onto the hurricane season trained to handle the commercial side of those as well.

Hired to assist with workload for Americas Insurance Company. Americas is a company ran with close to 30 regular daily employees with policy’s sold through Agent Brokers. When 2020 Hurricane season being as busy as it was the company had outgrown its workable case load. Primarily worked Hurricane claims from Hurricane Laura through Hurricane Zeta, including some of the Tropical disturbances of that season. Once the CAT claims were brought under control and moving along, I was also issued day claims. Process was once estimate was reviewed by Field Adjusters Mgmt., I would review and either accept or refuse. If accepted, I would review and then contact Insured to review one more time to make sure all relevant items were included in the FAs scope. Adjustments were needed on roughly 90% of the FAs final reports. If items were clear enough and I could see existing damages from FAs field report photos, I would work as closely as possible with the Insured to complete the overlooked items and make the additions or adjustments in Xactimate. In some special cases the FA would be called upon to revisit the Insureds property.

Worked estimates completed by Field Adjusters for Hurricanes Laura, Sally, Zeta and Tropical storm Eta. Discussed documented losses with policy holders. Reviewed policies for covered items. Discussed amounts of loss with insured and well as the insured’s contractors. Issued payments to insured, unless directed to issue payment elsewhere. Made sure all lines of communication were open among all parties. Position required ability to carry heavy claim load while maintaining the highest levels of customer service as well as ASI / Progressive services standards. Responsible for working claim from cradle to grave. This included initial contact and explanation with insured the entire claim process. Assigned level of severity from 0 to 5 which would trigger a field adjuster for claim level 3 and higher. Worked closely with the field adjusters on each claim. Often requesting revisions or revising estimate myself in Xactimate. Working of the estimate had a strict claim process of 9 total steps. Once all steps were completed claim was paid and closed.

Sept 2019 - August 2020 - WNC Insurance Services / Precise Adjustments

Inside Commercial Claims Examiner – Dallas TX

Hired specifically for the Kentucky National Insurance Third Party Administrator of Claims. Worked closely with KYIN Executive Management, Kentucky based Independent Adjusters and their Adjusting firms to provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction for the Insured as well as the Insurer. Claims were assigned from time of inception, had sole ownership while investigation was carried out and up to closing of the claim. Basic workflow is as follows: Day claim was reported focused on contact with the Insured to discuss workflow and what Insured could expect during the claims process. Assigned IA to do field inspection of the loss and worked closely with the IA on timely inspections as well as submitting the final report within 5 days after initial contact with the Insured. Verified all possible coverages for listed loss. Maintained close contact with Insured to keep informed on status and any items
