QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive experience in working with UT Systems Office of Employee Benefits including data management in SGELIG and analysis of data to correct issues in a timely manner.

Familiarity with enrollment in Retirement Manager and tracking ongoing retirement deductions for TRS, ORP, UTGRA, DCP, and TSA for employees including coordination with payroll to avoid overfunding.

Ability to assist in monthly benefits reconciliation including new retirees, terminations, new hires, FMLA, Workers Compensation, and refunds due to employees through payroll.

Comfort with the responsibility of being the sole data entry Benefit Specialist in PeopleSoft for several years, on both the benefits and demographics side to ensure no problems with benefit coverage.

Benefit Specialist Sr.

Responsible for benefits annual enrollment process for our entire campus and regularly work with UT Systems Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) to coordinate correct benefit coverages for employees, retirees and their dependents.

Perform efficient and accurate data entry for employee information in benefits applications including: PeopleSoft, MS Access, and HRIS on all benefit related systems and insurance plans (ORP, TRS, UTGRA, DCP, TSA programs, UT Flex, and Physician benefits) including dependent and beneficiary data.

Maintain Teachers Retirement System (TRS) to ensure updated data and new hire monthly reports as required.

Conduct monthly reconciliation of all insurance plans to submit accurate and balanced statements/reports to our payroll department, accounting department and UT System OEB. Also, perform data entry and pay-line processing when any errors are found.

Participate in HR & Benefits related projects, including major system upgrades for PeopleSoft and HRIS data.

Coordinate with our IT department and OEB for the testing and implementing of benefit and insurance plan setup and changes in our benefits application systems.

Serve on System Wide Insurance Advisory Committee (SWIAC) to provide input and recommendations for proposed benefit plan changes.

Collaborate with Payroll Kronos Timekeepers and monitor attendance of our campus’ employees for accuracy.

Performed data entry into PeopleSoft that included: benefit/insurance plans, retirement plans, dependents, and beneficiaries.

Prepared and reviewed all requests for FMLA and Sick Leave to insure campus policies and Federal guidelines were maintained at all times.

Assisted with annual enrollment process including managing appointments needed, conducting data entry, and ensuring appropriate eligibility data was received.

Worked with the Benefits Analyst each month to regularly audit all benefits for employees and retirees, as well as coordinating corrections with the enrollee, payroll and OEB.
