Cleaned and optimized REST and sync calls between the server and the iOS App. Helped with overall code / design. This was a complete code refactor from database to display. We worked with a team of four developers to develop this sophisticated auditing app. The use of CoreData and business objects allowed us to reduce the lines of code by over 50% while adding reuse and code legibility.

ThinkECO - 2010-2011 - Managed CodeFab team to develop the ThinkECO iPhone home monitoring app. This convenience app queried a back end system designed by the client. It was written in iOS / ObjectiveC and incorporated the CorePlot open source framework for charting. This version of the app monitored home electrical and gas usage.

Ron Lachman: “what would I’d say is Cal’s greatest strength?” He’s a generalist. From hardware to software programming he’s got 40++ years of experience in the foundation history of today’s platforms. He’s done it all and worked with everybody... from directly with Steve Jobs at NeXT to small startups.” Lastly, I set it up for Steve Jobs to book the first airline ticket on the web in front of 5,000 people at Davis Theater in SFO in realtime pulling a T1 circuit in less than a month in the mid 90’s. First to teach teach computers to high schoolers when at Sun in '85 and took in a bunch of homeless kids when Steve told me to move to Chicago. One of my kids now runs Linkedin as vp of engineering. An employee of mine went off to built and managed apple.com for 15yrs. Another one of my kids designed and put up the first Chicago Public Schools cps.edu web site. My team designed and built the longest serving web site for the Financial Times of London. My team designed and built the first olympics web site (SLC). For over a year, all of the internet traffic for the veterans affairs hospitals for four states ran through my basement. Wired.com sprang from its grandfather hosted in my basement. Fixed and deployed the first arbitrage trading platform for major Chicago trading firm. And while in college, I wrote a simulator for cruise missiles firmware for testing. For the last dozen years, I have engineered and managed mobile, web and cloud projects with international and domestic teams currently published on the app stores. What's next for the next 10 years?
