Human Service Work
Qualification:
Strong problems solving skills to include using creativity within the guideline of company policies
Conduct customer follow-up within a reasonable time frame
Helping individuals, families, and groups of people to cope with problems they’re facing to improve their patients’ lives.
Teaching skills and developing mechanisms for patients to rely on to better their lives and experiences.
Active Listening, Social Perceptiveness, Critical Thinking, Coordination, Judgment and Decision Making
Became familiar with, and refer clients to, community resources. Social workers address legal issues, such as assisting with hearings and providing testimony relating to their patients. They also engage in research, policy development, and advocacy for services. And of course, social workers must maintain case history records and prepare reports. Social work can be the kind of job that requires a great deal of overtime, and separating the emotional aspects of the job from the duties required can be a difficult undertaking. But there are plenty of resources, including websites, books, and social media users that can offer great advice.

McCauley’s Resident home for girls and babies /House Manager
Overviewed the residents according to the policies, rules, and regulations of the organization: I made sure all the counselors were doing their jobs taking residents to appointments, school, work, and training programs that were set up for them. answering the phones, record keeping, filing, ordering food on a monthly basis as needed. I monitored the resident’s medications for them and their babies. We offered daycare for the girls so that they could have a productive life, to be able to go to learn a trade such as GED, training in a variety of programs that will improve their futures so that they could manage on their own after leaving our residents.
I offered classes in parenting, the importance of a car seat. Hygiene, education, and some had been high school dropouts in the 7th grade, taught them how to travel on the city's subways systems. The entire residents were required to have dinner together, they had to every other weekend off to see their families under the rules. They had to have a family member on file or an adult friend that had been interviewed, with a background check, and address on files in case the girls didn’t return home on Sunday before 6:pm as scheduled. The girl received an allowance by keeping the rooms cleaned and picking their babies up from the daycare center in a timely manner. If they were late they had to call an hour ahead of time to let staff no. I would let the girls have phone calls twice a week for 30 minutes.
I would have monthly meals with the girls just to see how the staff was treating them and so they could tell me about their week.
They were ages 17 to 21 once they came from all walks of life so were even mandated. Just to name a few things about
McCauley’s that I have done. We love all the girls and treated them as if they were my own daughter and grandchildren. However, most importantly I kept it professional.

Saint Paul’s Safe Haven
I started this safe haven because wanted to make a difference in the community
This is a place for homeless men and women suffering bipolar disorder, depression, suicide, schizophrenia, I would counsel them and referred them to mental health clinics in the area that was able to meet their needs.
I provided resources that I had researched and accumulated in the entire area
I regulated rules and regulations
I coordinated weekly meetings on behavior issues, respect, and regulations about the facility and developed a very close relationship with the Allentown Police Department for security.
For security, I had meetings with a variety of churches who were impressed with what I was doing for the homeless community. They would take up collections on Sundays; with that money, I would buy food, snacks, toiletries, and cook dinner every night for anyone in the community that needs it.
I would write letters and get donations from stores such as Kmart for blankets, and Dickies would provide camping sleep gear. The Major was so impressed that there was a write about the Safe haven in the local newspaper.
