I recently graduated from Brock University in May of 2020, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree with honours in Public Health (BPH). During the COVID-19 virus I assisted within a long term care home, and a vaccine clinic. .

During my educational experience at Brock University I was able to learn about various healthcare settings. I completed a health administrative course while there and was able to learn about how each section of the healthcare system, and the importance of the sections working together to ensure the system runs smoothly. While attending Brock there were various group projects allowing me to improve on my abilities to work within a team environment, which should translate into success within the team environment within this job posting. A large part of my degree focused on ways to improve the lives of those facing health disparities, using health promotion techniques. My current educational experience at Fleming College is focused on developing my abilities to properly enforce the legislature. Including proper procedures for, inspection, monitoring, investigation, and enforcement within a wide range of industries.

During my experience working at Williams Consulting I was able to gain an interesting perspective on the Indigenous healthcare system, and the similarities and differences in comparison to the mainstream healthcare system. I was able to aid the senior members of the team with various research projects during my contract with the consulting firm. I have also been able to gain a unique experience of the healthcare system while working at a long term care home, and vaccine clinic during the COVID-19 outbreak, allowing me to see how the system works under pressure.

Introduction

Following the completion of my bachelor’s degree in Public Health in May of 2020, I began working in a long term care home to assist during the COVID-19 outbreak.
