Implementation of a Lung Cancer Screening Program:

Duration: 12 months and ongoing

Project Description: As a member of the healthcare team, I was involved in implementing a Lung Cancer Screening Program. The goal of the program was to identify patients at high risk for lung cancer and to detect the disease at an early stage when it is more treatable. My responsibilities included working with the multidisciplinary team to develop the program protocol, identifying eligible patients and Analyzing the output of screening.

To achieve this, I performed various tasks, such as:

Specification gathering and identifying eligible patients through electronic medical records.

Coordinating with the pulmonologist to understand the screening process and working to build the report.

Collaborating with the billing department to ensure proper coding and reimbursement of screening exams.

The implementation of the Lung Cancer Screening Program has improved the early detection and pushed providers to do smoke screening at each PCP appointment. The experience gained during this project helped me develop skills such as project management, communication, and collaboration. I learned to work with different departments and disciplines to achieve a common goal, which I believe would be valuable in any healthcare-related field.

Disease Management Team(DMT)
