United Parcel Service (UPS) is an American multinational package delivery and supply chain management company. They use SAP system to manage the inbound and outbound transportation of parcels in huge containers or trailers. My responsibilities included the following:-
1. Manually checking all the inbound and outbound trailers and noting down their numbers and their status (Empty, Load, or Too Far Back (TFB)) in a predefined and formatted official paper.
2. Making sure I comply with all the safety procedures and follow the certification requirements for the check and documentation.
3. Logging in to the SAP transportation System and checking the status of various inbound and outbound containers.
UPS SAP system uses various movement codes to reflect the inbound, outbound movement of containers/ trailers. I checked the SAP system for these movements of containers and documented the same.
4. Checking the trailers in the SAP system to make sure the status in the system matches the status in the documentation.
5. Checking the containers for OTC packages that the customers had ordered and feeding it into the Feeder System
5. Issue reporting and handling by immediately identifying and reporting the discrepancies in the system to the concerned person.
Documenting the status, departure time of inbound and outbound container numbers in the predefined and formatted paper and getting it approved from the concerned person.
