First Baptist Medical Center Manager of Infection Prevention/Employee Health/Education; current position.

North Okaloosa Medical Center until May of this year; moved back because of my husband’s job needs.

City Hospital at White Rock; PRN status as Infection Prevention/Quality Manager left March 2022 to move to Florida for family.

Carrollton Regional Medical Center; employed as Infection Prevention/Employee Health Manager – left March 2021

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake; employed as Infection Control Coordinator and covering multiple locations; left April 2020 to move back to DFW area.

CHI St. Luke’s Hospital Patients Medical Center: Infection Prevention Coordinator left to pursue position at HCA Houston Healthcare when CNO left the facility – September 2018 and remained as PRN until April 2020.

Job Knowledge:

Develops, implements, and continually monitors compliance of the employee health/infection control policies and procedures.

Maintains a surveillance system for detecting, monitoring hospital acquired and community infections, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Provides physicians and staff with updates of infection control.

Investigates outbreaks or clusters of infections. Monitors, analyzes, and interprets bacteriology reports and infection statistics, recommends appropriate control measures to prevent dissemination of resistant microorganisms and pathogens.

Consults with physicians, managers, and staff for the management of infectious and/or immune-suppressed patients.

Presents trended data to Hospital Committees.

Collaborates with local and state health departments in the prevention, control, and appropriate reporting of communicable diseases.

Participates in ongoing infection control educational programs for employees. Educates patients concerning infectious processes.

Acts as an educational resource person for staff concerning infection control and occupational health.

Undertakes regular infection control audits and appropriate follow-up action where required.

Updates Leadership concerning any suspected hospital acquired infections.

Responsible for reporting hospital acquired infections to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Hands-on resources for unit staff and for other leadership to develop a culture of teamwork.

Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.

Promotes an environment in which employees are empowered to take appropriate actions to excel in work related quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
