PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Managing Director & Designer HD Design 2006 – Present Meet with clients to identify goals, project scope, and design concepts, build and present proposals, negotiate contracts, hire and manage contractors, select and purchase furnishings, textiles, fixtures, artwork, appliances, lighting elements, cabinetry, and tile, etc. Build clientele of hundreds from ground up by reaching out to network, securing referrals, and developing industry relationships. Manage up to four projects simultaneously for spaces of up to 9,000 square feet each. Read blueprints, drive space planning, stage furniture, influence architectural plans, and coordinate order and installation of custom fabrications. Control budgets, conduct value engineering exercises to prevent cost overruns, keep deliveries on pace, and deliver completed projects on time.

Event Ownership: Host open houses, events, and client parties. Decide catering, lead all setup/strike activities, and select cost effective and appropriate décor with minimal input. Schedule and manage expenses for 100% budget adherence, mail/track invitations, order supplies, and guide event flow

Project Planning. Investigate and analyze project needs, perimeters, dimensions, stylization goals, and project size, design themed narrative of vision, and outline timeline and budget targets incorporating contingency funds in plans for final budget. Lead research and estimate costs, define and order priorities, and partner with architects and construction crews on schedule and timing

Custom Designs. Conceptualize and govern creation of custom window treatments, lampshades, artwork, murals, furnishings, cabinets, furniture, faux finishes, rugs, and bedding

Change Controls. Document all new requests, secure cost estimates, determine impact to project scope and labor to budgets, drive approvals, oversee execution phases, and communicate results
