Provided all levels of process engineering support for a full array of project design engineering assignments.

Successfully, worked to troubleshoot numerous refinery units’ process problems by employing chemical engineering calculations, process simulations, and root cause analysis methodologies.

Performed all engineering support activities for Pre-Turnaround and Turnaround initiatives for a multi-train distillation unit (Primary Crude Unit) and a hydrotreater unit.

Completed and closed over 150 outstanding PHA Action Items and took the Technical Services lead for all process units PHA reviews.

Performed technical review evaluations for all unit related Incident Investigations.

Completed over 60 PSV evaluations (i-PRSM) for new and existing safety valves, including inlet and outlet piping requirements, adhering to API 520/521 guidelines and API 2000 guidelines for storage tanks.

Successfully, completed over seventy (70+) medium to large capital projects, equipment sizing & specifications for client companies ($200 M to $12 MM), i.e. new multi-train distillation unit at Chevron Phillips in Borger, TX, new hydrotreater Phillips 66, major conversion of a fixed bed hydrotreater to CCR.

Performed over 300 PSV evaluations for Koch Nitrogen/Ammonia plants, including inlet and outlet pipe sizing and relief valve header studies for global cases.

Served as the contractor engineer for numerous unit PHA’s, i.e. Chevron Phillips & Phillips 66 Companies.

Worked to complete a backlog of over 100 incomplete/outstanding Management of Change (MOC) documents at CF Industries in Woodward, OK and over 30 PSV evaluations to meet full API compliance.

Developed over 500+ process engineering simulations utilizing HYSYS, BRE Pro Max, and Sim Sci Pro II (utilized heat exchanger design tools such as HTRI to produce preliminary to detailed equipment designs).

Served as the Sr. Contractor Engineer leading daily monitoring and unit(s) support (including process optimization studies and turnaround support at several companies, e.g., CVR Energy, Coffeyville, KS and CF Industries, Woodward, OK)

Due to the medical absence of the Lead Process Department Engineer, I served for two (2) years as the ‘acting’ Process Department Manager and direct supervisor of five (5) full-time process engineers and three (3) contractor process engineers.

Produced over 100+ process simulations as the initial step to developing client studies/projects (via BRE ProMax & HYSYS).

Performed new equipment sizing calculations/simulation’s rating and worked with vendors to guide equipment detailed designs. Expert user of HTRI, BRE ProMax rating programs, and i-PRSM.

Developed new P&ID’s, PFD’s, Demo Drawings.

Spearheaded numerous hydraulics studies for Williams Pipeline, Tulsa, OK.

Served as the technical lead to complete the FEED work for several new gas field glycol dehydration units.

Served as the technical consultant engineer for PHA reviews for new processes and process unit upgrades.

I enjoyed working for Select and the Engineering Director Mr. Bevan Collins, however, I resigned from Select to return to the Virgin Islands where my wife was under a nursing contract until the end of 2010 and our son was a high school student.

Assigned to seven (7) Distillate Desulfurizers and Hydrotreaters, two (2) Nitrogen Plants, one (1) Deisohexanizer, two (2) Crude Oil Distillation Units, two (2) Vacuum Distillation Units, two (2) Catalytic Reformers (Platformers), Entire Refinery Terminal, Delayed Coker Project Team, FCC Debottlenecking Project, Asset Team - Terminal, Refinery Energy Management Team, Fire Brigade, and the HAZOP teams.

One of three (3) process engineers assigned to the engineering reviews and evaluations for a new 55 MBPD Delayed Coker Unit. Our team was responsible for reviewing every segment of the development of the new unit relative to major equipment sizing & selection, process piping and interconnects, process control’s equipment, and all PSM requirements. The project cost was $650 MM and constructed by Bechtel.

Spearheaded all assigned unit’s daily monitoring, troubleshooting, test runs, KPI’s, catalyst end-of-run calculations, platformer catalyst regenerations, and turnaround engineering support. Generated all of the technical documentation for the aforementioned process engineering activities.

Developed a refinery wide review and assessment study of all process fired heaters and implemented an energy management program that optimized heater performance and fuel consumption.

Spearheaded over eight (8+) UOP Platformer regenerations and over twelve (12+) hydrotreater catalyst changeouts and sulfidings.

Worked on a myriad of Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives such as PSV evaluations, PHA’s, HAZOPS, What IF’s, etc. I also completed all ‘action item’s generated from these PSM initiatives.

Worked on performing all chemical engineering calculations to address troubleshooting efforts and improve unit performance.
