I schedule appointments for trucks to come in for service. I check trucks in when they arrive. I record mileage and engine hours. I note any physical damage seen to the vehicle . I pull the service information record for the truck and engine. I check for any warranty coverage and open campaigns. I then create a repair order. I assign jobs to the technicians. Once the vehicle has had a diagnostic triage, I check for warranty coverage and then I will create an estimate. I notify the customer of the cost of repairs. If they approve the estimate; I will have the parts pulled and give them to the technicians to continue with repairs. When repairs are completed, I review the repair order and make sure all parts are billed and cores are returned. I will then notify customer of the total of the final invoice and take payment or submit for warranty. I will then take payment and close out the repair order. I have also trained new employees for the second shift service writer position.
