Duties: Reviews records for completeness and accuracy prior to and following treatments. Files medical records utilizing the terminal filing system. Locates missing records utilizing the trace movement key in CHCS as well as the demographics home location in AHLTA. Screens calls and visitors at front desk to ascertain the nature of their inquiry or request. Receives medical records and related documentation from local civilian facilities as well as other MTF's. Releases medical documentation to military members after completion of DD 2870 and proper photo ID. Processes DD 877's utilizing a trace movement to ascertain the location of the physical record. Receives mail-in. Enters data pertaining to incoming medical records into Sharepoint, completes registration and updates data regarding incoming soldiers. Thorough knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and other PHI rules and regulations. Knowledge of regulations pertaining to AR 40-66. Thorough knowledge of skill and processing medical records utilizing the Composite Health Care System and AHLTA, to include; bar-coding of medical records; charge in/out OTR'S, trace record movements, various patient category codes and scanning of documents into HAIMS. Completion of any additional tasks as assigned. Proficient in release of information policies and procedures. Scanning documents into patients electronic health records.

Responding to requests for medical records from third party providers as well as requesting records from third parties to be scanned into patient charts for continuation of care.
